Compiling Very simple linux question

Im follow this guide

and it says to

Now, for the shell scripts.
You need to execute these commands:

sh autogen.sh
./configure --enable-mysql --enable-sqlite --enable-server-diag

when I tried to run these in the terminal both didnt work, so how do I do them?
