A ShadowCores inspired server

A long time ago, when ShadowCores was online, I used to play there and ended up in the Top 5 level for some time.
Those times are some of my best Open Tibia memories.
ShadowCores had great rates, nice loot and overall balance that made the game enjoyable and chill, without pressure or hardcore grinding.

Because of that, the idea stayed in my head for years.

A few years ago I worked on an Open Tibia server based mainly on Tibia 10.98, with content taken from higher protocols 11.00+.
That means more spawns, more items and more things to do compared to a classic 10.98 server.

Some of you may remember this project:
FoxOT discussion thread
It was never truly online.

All these files were just sitting on my disk for years, waiting until I come back to them.
And now I finally did.

Voidcores is inspired by ShadowCores.
Not a 1:1 copy, but a server made by someone who actually played there and wants to bring back the fun.

This is just a small announcement.
The server is still far from ready.

Planned things:
  • Mid to high rates similar to ShadowCores
  • Comfortable (fast) HP and mana regeneration
  • Free premium account
  • Quick loot
  • Reward chest system
  • Market system
  • Other useful quality of life features

The server will use OTClient so custom features and improvements will be possible.

If you want to follow the progress or just show interest, you can join the Discord through this landing page:
Voidcores - the spirit of Shadowcores is returning. (https://www.voidcores.com/)
(The server itself is not live yet)
It's gonna need some testing though.

If you have any questions or are curious about something specific, feel free to ask.
That is what this thread is for.
You can also join the Discord and talk there.

That is all for now.

A rough draft of how I see the UI.
It's mix of the good old flash UI and some transparency to make it fit nicer into the extended view.
Work is still in progress.

Client UI is missing some buttons and stuff here and there, but I'm very torn between what is better. One part of me likes the big "extended view", but the other part feels like the windows are clunky and classic interface like regular Tibia one would be better. It's hard to properly manage the space when windows take like 30% of the game view too.

I'm hosting the server on some cheap vps for testing purposes. The server is still pretty much bugged (even thought I fixed lots of stuff), because it's an old base, which I converted from server id to client id and back in the days items.otb were generated by random people causing lots of sid shifts. I'm testing how much I can, but I need help.
I'm not going to post any changelogs here, because probably no one cares and it would be very long anyway.

If you want to join, you can create an account Tibia 10.98 Custom Server - Voidcores (https://www.voidcores.com/). You'll get the client and every info you need there. Everything is free through the !test command.

This seems to be the finished "product" for now. Some buttons are still missing, but it's matter of replacing the asset. This screen is showing 4k resolution (3840 x 2160), so on smaller screen you'll have a bit less screen space, but nonetheless it should be as comfy. You can stack up to 3 action bars from the bottom.
Circles (health/mana) are possible to scale.
The highlight is that you can turn any window "wide" on both sides, just like the Minimap or Battle on screen. It still needs some adjustments, but probably minor ones.

I have few questions:
  • There is teamhunt?
  • There are imbuements?
  • There is wheel of destiny, tiers, etc?
  • There are preys?
I hope none of these features are included on this server. In my opinion, these features along with auto push and auto mwall are what destroyed the fun of this version.

1. Not sure what you mean, but teamhunt is in tibia since ages.
2. No, I would rather implement some custom systems than replicate what Tibia has.
3. Nope
4. Yes, prey system is also shown on one of the images above. I like the prey system, so decided to go with it.

For now though, I'm not really aiming for the custom part, but rather get the base nice and enjoyable. Fast and pleasant progression in early levels and slowing down later. There is also lots of "helpers" along the way, like free bless until some level, rewards for advancing and more.

Can't wait untill great success of your last server (2 weeks ago?) "Hexadia". I wish that this one would be same success!

btw this looks like "Super Auto Start Server only on eBay! Discount today"

Well, some are success some are not, success is also subjective term. I like building, so I'm building, if the server works and some people (even small group) enjoys them, then I can declare this as a success. But I know I know, I'm probably just coping, because in today's era 60% spoof player base is what defines the success.

This may look like some super auto start server only on allegro.pl with a 30% discount, earn 1293023902k PLN daily, because this datapack is from times when shadowcores was freshly closing and other servers were emerging like hexera/hexana. It's so old, it's from times when otbr didn't exist and people were using the "otx" distributions. Just like the lottery system on the first screen I'm getting flashbacks while looking at it. Good times, servers were meant to be fun, now its the opposite.
I have stated this in my main post, but this is an old project of mine, which was never truly online, so I want to make it justice and finish it, even if for a small group of enjoyers.

Oh and it's also the first server (and probably the last you'll see from me) that I was building and spent years doing that (2015-2019), so I'm basically coming back to my roots with this one and I'm kind of excited.

What I mean with teamhunt is the party vocation bonus, in my opinion this + new tibia respawns is what destroyed tibia, it made people gain 20x more experience. In shadowcores the max lvl was 500~ if i remember correctly, and the average was level 300, nowadays with boosts, preys, new respawns, imbuements, party vocation bonus, even with a x1 in last exp stage people will easily still make 1 or 2 lvls per day at lvl 1000 whcih in my opinion is kinda cringe. That's why im asking if your server have these features, because the main point on why shadowcores was funny for me was that the diff between top level and average lvl was not too high, and people was scared to take his main character out of pz.

I will definetly try your server.
