A webpage can have any resolution..
i guess for best usage for rly everyone would be 640 x 480 or 800 x 600
but i guess the most common resolution used by everyone is 1024 x 768 or something close to that.. but it pretty much doesn't matter at all but you should not make the page to big since it would look weird to users with low screen resolution just use normal-sized pics and use div sized with % not px size
