You must copy items.otb/xml files from your data/items/ folder to your map-editor folder. And then, run map-editor, open your map, do something and save the map. It must work.

Well.. make sure that your map is up to date to!
Ctrl + p and see if it's 8.50..

Was the map with simONE map editor? If not, try to open it with Simone map editor.
I had the same problem but that's how I fixed it.

Now im in no way shape or form, a RME Expert..

but from what it sounds... open RME

go to File>Preferences>Client Version?
