I want so see what most people look for in servers. Here are mine.

#1 English community with at least 30+ people-- I hate playing with br's and other people that don't know English why do you play an american server if you don't speak it.
#2 Custom features, examples-- custom items, spells, map,etc..---This make the server more interesting and fun.
#3 Good RPG feeling with challenges where you have to think and look in boxes, libraries etc..
#4 PvP, there has to be balanced vocation with spells so pvping is fair and even. Most servers don't have balanced PvP which is a big part of tibia.
#5 Nice and active Gm's, with constant updates and no botters-----botters are for lazy people and they ruin the game. If the Gm's aren't active why bother playing.

balanced pvp, constant updates, no botters (no 8.6 version), no download&run, no evolution.

Why wouldn't I?
I've played Icechaw(German server) and not everyone was swe, I do not search OTS because of the country, I search them because of the quality.
And I agree on the others :p.

Decent map
Decent amount of English speaking players
Fair stuff
Low exp rate
Wars

Things I look for:

1. An addicting playstyle. This means when you login and you are drawn to the game. Remember when you first got addicted to Tibia, you couldn't log off? That's what I look for. Sometimes you can make a player feel that the moment he logs in, those servers are the most effective and entertaining.

2. A strong community. I don't care if a server has 3 players or 300, unless you have a solid group of people who are the type to work together to do quests, sell items and help out newcomers, your server probably sucks.

3. Customization. If you can't put up anything other than a RL map or evolutions, I won't even login. If I wanted to play RL map I'd go play the official game. Why would I waste my time if a server could be shut down at any moment, never to be brought online. Custom monsters and spells also make a server cool.

4. Rates. If your server is 1-3x, you likely wont find me on your server. Same goes if it's over 500x, what the hell is the point? I'm not wasting my time on an OT that may not last longer than a year.

5. Supportive and helpful staff. If you own a server, why aren't you on it helping players and keeping them around?

  • Nice and detailed map, i hate real maps, but evolutions and others can be good if they are detailed, i also prefer custom maps.
  • Big community, even when english its not my main language, i like servers with a english community, but not only english, when there are other people like brazilians, polishs the server is divided in bigger teams for PvP and that stuff, making it funnier
  • I also hate older tibia clients like 8.6 and that.. i actually love 9.10, so yea i found servers with latest protocol better.
  • RPG feeling, like big quests, addons for items, mounts and everything that, that makes u addict to the server.
  • Mid exp, i think people leave even the best RPG servers, because they get bored at the begging when you have to kill 100 rotworms to level up, so some mid exp like 10~50 or lower exp but with a lot of quests that gives you exp, like K.A

no brs, low lvl, good mapping, custom monsters, a form of balance that makes the use of runes other than sd's usefull (same with spells, i hate it when you use mainly one overpowered spell for most monsters) and allowance to bot xd

1. A good community.
A server that enforces people to get friends and do stuff together.
World based quests and events. The whole community may participate in an event or quest which will affect the gameplay for everyone or a large portion of the community.

2. Variation.
A good mixture of quests, events, hunting.

3. Map
A world map that interact with the player, proper monster spawns, no/almost no teleports. (use boats in a rpgish style or something instead). TPs are ugly.

4. Rates
An experience rate that fits the server, keeps things entertaining throughtout the game and makes it nearly impossible to "complete" the server.
Wether it be 1x or 1000x totally depends on the server.

5. Mature and fair staff members.
95% of servers who have staff members below 18 years old do not have a mature staff community.

1 no OVER donating(actually open tibia changed alot, every1 seen u can get good mone from ots so all now just want money)
2 active community, not that says 100 ppl online and 90 are afk in trainers and 9 botting and ur the other
3 CUSTOM SHIT, all download & open
4 atleast mini updates every week or two
it doesn't need a 5

1. Custom map, well made...

2. Not to high Exp, not to low either, about 10x is good.

3. Well made Quests and Scripts.

4. Mature Gamemasters and Tutors that know what they are doing.

5. If possible, no polish players. (xd)

1. nwtr doesn't play it
2. no brazilian's
3. double check on the brazilian's
4. Make sure there is no Arab's
5. double check on the arab's, triple check on the brazilian's

1. Check if there is no xenophobics playing
2. Check if Havoc doesn't play
3. Double check if Havoc doesn't play
4. Triple check option #3
5. Quadra check option #4

Alright, I'll keep this simple:

1. No botters.
2. Balanced vocations.
3. Donations that provide little-no advantage.
4. Mid exp rates (over 100x is too much, under 10x is grindy).
5. Some type of cool customization (be it map, items, vocations, spells, monsters, whatever) the more the better until you do 100% customization and no one knows what to do because you don't have or have a shitty tutorial.

1. No any custom donate items like uber wand of dedek.
2. Balanced vocations.
3. Low exp.
4. Rl map.
5. wars.
