No, I think this was probably a bot that was posting links to sites to buy watches.

1- OP did not post enough information as it's stated in the ads announcement.
2- OP seems he did not report those spam and offtopic posts, instead he was inviting users to do it by replying them with an inaproppiate language.
3- The thread was already too offtopic, many of the posters there including Cake should have gained a warning or an infraction.
