recently made a thread where said that i wanted to buy a a SERVER FEATURE, NOT A SERVER ITSELF in jobs section, like if i were about to buy an otclient feature or a website feature , now i have recieved a warning because of it by a moderator. What can i buy from jobs sections and what's not? for what is job section then? why mappers spriters, sripters among other does not get warning or punishments by selling or buying content ?

hahaha amazing? is just me or this have sound simply dumb, does somebody noticed it?
what's the actual difference between these though?
can't see no diference else than a "game of words" but it's almost the same Rofl

its really a gray area after all lol

you can hire a person to do anything for you
but you can't buy that "anything" directly

PS: these are just my words and shouldn't be threated as staff words, if you want a complete answer you should've opened your thread at feedback section and a mod or admin would answer you

Actually, it does make sense because it protects OtLand from being directly involved. It is intentional wording.

Like for example if someone sells a HD upscale spritepack, they would essentially be enabling sale of CipSoft's property, which CipSoft can sue them for. Also if someone sells a server pack that is a virus, people can argue that OtLand is responsible because they didn't ensure that a product being sold on their platform was safe, even though it was sold by a third party.

It's the same reason places like eBay don't let you sell pirated Disney movies, or things like bombs, drugs or malware. Because they would be responsible to making sure that the stuff sold on their platform is safe and not illegal or harmful.

It is very hand-waver'y to say "Can't sell a product, but selling a job to make it is fine", yes. But it works, legally speaking.
They're not responsible for the end result, they're just responsible for mediating the meeting between a person who needs something done, and someone who can fulfill that need. That's why Craigslist for example don't have ads for naughties, but plenty of "escort services".

They do of course have a limited liability to making sure the people they mediate aren't scammers, but that is why you see actions taken by moderators like banning people who are proven scammers, and why we have the Community Recommendation Thread.

1. You quoted another member because you were unable to send a PM, not a thing you do when you seek anyone to do something (as a job)

2. The person had converted monster files, you asked if you could buy them "and I'm wondering if you are willing to sell the fixed source monster behavior strategy and skills upgrades " (your words)

3. "how much would it cost? please message me or post in here" (again your words)

In other words a clear violation of rule #11

If you have any questions feel free to respond to the PM you got with the warning or send me one.
