Compiling What linux choose?

Hey.
Last time i compile tfs 1.0 with that tutorial, and i dont have any problems...
Now, i can't compile tfs 0.4.

What linux system i should use?
Ubuntu / Debian ? Or some other?
If ubuntu, 12.04 / 14.04 or what?
If Debian, 5,6,7 ?
32 / 64 bit?

And what tutorial will be best ?

Maybe somethink else?
I have problem with install sql on debian 7. But not try the minimal version yet
