You should get a small sound as a notice when someone comments on your thread
or when you receives a message from someone.

I also suggest a live chat with all Otland members instead of having a discord group

It would also be a good option to make Spanish forums, as well as English and Swedish and Polish for those who need help with requests

Agree. Especially with live chat, with this update people could get answers if they have really simple questions and they dont want to create new thread to get answer

Native Chatboards

What we really need is a tutorial for people to learn how to navigate the existing parts of this forum & how to use the search and advance search as well as where to post threads for help & requests while understanding the difference between them... not to mention how to properly post code and list the tfs version they are using.

All this other stuff the OP mention is unnecessary unless they have built a template and want to integrate it with the existing layout.

There is a Feedback forum for these sort of suggestions. I'm not a fan of people having a chat for the purpose of using it to get support, most of the people that need support don't even know how simple/complex their problem is. Also discord has a insane advantage to chat, it's made for it and people use it for others purposes. More options actually split the community and make it smaller, you offer a chat and you have people that would use the forum only interacting through the chat, or people willing to help via discord with people need help lost in the forum, etc etc.

Native boards are dead for a reason. Our community is small, failing to use english limit people too much in the internet.

Why is sound sparingly used on websites?

There is no Discord server. Not an official one at least, so no Discord server can pretend to be "Otland", they are not.

As many pointed out, they exist. You must have scrolled past them to get to Feedback board already.

The reason Otland is a forum is to make content persist over time. Maybe chat is "faster" to get answers but with a shrinking community, you'll eventually be unlikely to get any answers.
With our history of half a million messages in the Support board alone, there's a chance that when you Google for a problem, you will find a thread here hopefully with an answer. If you start asking questions and getting answers on a chat (whether it's Discord, or a built-in "Shoutbox" type of chat here) nobody will ever find that in future. A longer form (thread/post) also allows you to better present your problem with code/quotes. For similar reasons we make efforts to keep the archive of all the downloads clean, moderated and AVAILABLE (as in no dead links). Having your problems answered via Discord is for future readers as useful as The Graveyard
