I think they will implement what some open tibia servers have, a level cap. Once you reach level 1000, you have the opportunity to stay at this level or go back to a certain level with equipment & money. They've been copying a lot lately, I don't see why they wouldn't add this.

Or just stop gaining experience at a certain level.

Yea, or they would as something like "rating" or "honour points" which you will gain after somekind of level cap.
