Don't be stupid, you ask people who probably do not play tibia anymore. Ask players, not people from otland. Players doesn't want to play on custom servers :/

You server is more likely to lose. Players wan't back to old story, climate.

This is kinda true... 15 say CUSTOM OT, yet probably only 3 of them would play it. The other 12 just want to support the idea.

I'm doing a unique custom server atm, not expecting 500 online, i'm realistic. Custom servers arn't popular and dont get popular. At best 200-300 players (spider OT for example)
 
Start doing something along the lines of Tibia, but something new. "Demetri type" servers is a plethora .
 
I think if people went to the trouble of clicking on this thread and voted for a custom server, then they would be willing it play it.
The problem is that everyone likes different things in a custom OT and since custom is such a broad word there are different variations.

I'm sure all 16 of those that voted for custom sprites, items, story would love to play a server like that but there isn't enough detail.
Maybe some of those people like high exp servers, but the server turns out to be super low exp so some of those people will end up not playing the server.

But you are right... there are not that many custom seeking players out there.. as opposed to real maps.

You said that servers like mine is plenty? I think, you do not read the previev thread or if please show me second the same project.
RPG, own story line, own client with own graphics and lots of rpg systems.

http://otservlist.org/ Go and search, count rpg server with this features.
Now count how many evo and rl servers is added at this list. And eventually show us your results.

I'm actually doing such a server as is in the poll and i see that there will be not many players interested such a server. I've got a good advert so my server will gain enough players but for new RPG servers there is no future.
 
this poll is biased because most custom loving people use the discussion part of this forum so this poll will have a lot of requests for a custom. I like custom servers myself but you need to know that the community is very small. if you are in it for the money or having 500+ people than you should make another server (evo or rl map) but would be really cool to see a new custom project starting :)
