Linux Whos better: Windows or Linux for host server

Dear Otlanders, I'm using now Windows xp I whant to host a server without crashes or lags, So if I use windows It stills 2-3 days and get lags and crashes. So I'm thinking to change host to Ubuntu. I know that's better working but,
It's dificult to make a server with Ubuntu?
Works better than Windows Xp or 7?

unless it's a big map/real map, it's not crashing because of your OS but because of something ingame. moving to lolbuntu wont help fix it

DEbug it to know what's happening and I'm suggesting to use always latest updated version of your engine.

But 3 days online with windows, maybe it's because haven't got same efficiency as linux, and need restart every 24h?

Here is my experience with Linux:
Uses less memory on normal OS run than Windows in no matter what Architecture(With Graphical Environment).
Has better security than any OS.
Does not get any viruses(since there are not too many to count anyways).

There are many more, but will be here for a while.

If you really feel like you want the extra security that Linux/Unix has to offer, then click on one of the links on my signature(Ubuntu or Fedora) and follow any installation guide in their site.
