What engine is it you're trying to compile? Is there no download for a compiled version already?
For 7.92, you can for example use Evolutions 0.7.8/9 server engine, it has both SQL and XML data versions, depending on which one you are looking for. And they come compiled already.

@222222 I'd avoid using any old distro. Lots of exploits, unmaintable code and need to use old dependencies (with known critical bugs reported)
