Bruteforce attacks can take anywhere between seconds to years depending on how many characters, special characters, numbers and mixtures of capitals and lowercase letters and of course relies on the speed of your computer.

Depends on the file you're trying to crack.

It may also be helpful to attempt "simple" passwords. Depending on the source the password may be something very simple. For example, if someone uploaded an archived .rar file on OtLand and didn't provide the password, I would try something like:

• otland
• tibia
• password
• password1
• password123
• 12345
