For a long time I've been working on a map mostly made of bits and pieces of public released maps around OTServ community. I am not the best mapper, nor the best coder or manager, but I tryed to put all my skills together and come up with this.

Along with the map I've been working on the server aswell, adding quests, story quests, daily quests, tasks, npcs, and those kind of things. The server would be RPG with low rates x1.0 - x2.0 max and my aim always been to maintain that old feeling of exploration over grinding.

I've been thinking about trying to set up a server for a couple of months and see if it have any success or not but what's drawing me back is the amount of work that I must put into it to make it possible (set up webpage, hosting costs, finishing the map and/or things that are 100% necessary for a proper release...)

If anyone been in a similar situation, I would like to hear some advice. Thanks!

Yes it is. That's the problem, working alone on this is almost suicidal :) But as I'm doing it as a hobby for now it's okay.

i like that idea, u can run for all the map its a nice for old times of pvp

I plan to have the last part of land complete (the big chunk to the east) by the end of the summer.

After that I will have to start balancing the map (some areas have monsters way to strong or weak taking into account how far or close are to a city) and adding a much bigger variety of spawns, the biggest problem comes here, because I'm not experienced with latest Tibia versions so there are a big amount of items/monsters unknown to me.

I'm also adding lots of references to other videogames in quests, npcs... as a gamer I always found entertaining those things in games.
