Znote Failed to connect to MySQL: (2002) Connection timed out

Hello everybody,

I got my server set up and running..
My website is on a second server, connecting to the db on the game server...

now everything was running smooth for about 2 weeks
but now I got this error when trying to visit my website
Failed to connect to MySQL: (2002) Connection timed out

It also tells me to add the znote tables to my db & check the db connection settings in the website config file
The db has all necessary tables, also the connection details in the config file are all right
it just doesnt connect anymore, I tried to find some error output on my servers mysql log but can't

TFS can connect to the database, I can connect to the database via phpmyadmin
just the website cant connect to it anymore -> timed out
it used to work fine for days, now just stopped i didnt change any setting

My assumption is that the website's ip is maybe blocked from accessing the db/mysql
does someone else have an idea and knows how to fix this?

bump - still happens.. sometimes the page works then sometimes it gives me a timeout
