Suggestion Otland Chat (Similar to Facebooks)

Hi, I'm suggesting to Otland to add a chat system, not like the big box, but something similar to facebooks.

Its getting annoying having to wait for some kind of notification to inform you that you have a message.

But what about those evil people out there that will spam others? I mean, those people are cruel I'm glad I'm not one of them. :]

+1 for Nick's post though, It would be fun instead of having people say "MSN NOW" I can say "OTLAND CHAT NOW" :D

Nah, #otland on Quakenet would be the channel for that. The channel you are talking about is unofficial and filled with spam, bots and too many is getting oped.
 
This is an interesting idea, because when using IRC you can't be sure who you are talking to. You can pick any nick there. It might be a bit hard to implement though, but the suggestion is great. We will see if we get time to write such a plugin for vBulletin. You can perhaps help by looking for such a plugin on vbulletin.org, preferably for vBulletin 4.

Hani, after I started releasing those ModernAAC Layouts; the population in #tibia has begun growing. We just demoted the inactive ops (Holix, tuntis, GriZzm0, and Kornholi) and are not advancing any more people to OP unless there is a good reason for it.

As for the "spam", thats just all those people talking at once which #otland is yet to have because of its lack of people and active people.

Yes its an unofficial channel but it is not only for otland. It was created for all communities to come together. So far many people from OtLand and Otfans are active in the channel.

New rules for bots have been put in place; TibiaBot of course is there to record chat logs and stats of people joining the channel. Most of its spam features have been or will be removed shortly. TriviaBot helps keep the channel active and help build better relations with the people in the channel. Snailbot and Fishbot are Quakenet service bots and so I can't just ban them. Plus they add some humor to the channel. But as for the annoying spambots such as CykoBot, FallenBot, QuasBot, etc. I have created a new channel where they can spread their fail.

A nice idea, but only if you can chat with your profile-friends, not with all people online on the forum, i don't want 100 noobs talking to me at same time every time i release a script.
