Update item to single player

I used sendUpdateItem to update an item on a single player client but when i leave screen and come back it is back to its old item, I was wondering why?!(just for test purposes only need when leave screen item don't change)

I have checked if any messages are send from server to client or something to update but i can find nothing. Any idea what make the item go back to its old id?
