The shape of the island is a bit unnatural, try to not make straight or square parts in your shape. You used double mountain borders (id: 4456+), better only use 1. On dirt you should use brown debris/gravel instead of grey. I think the frozen doesn't fit there and for the drawbridge you should use 9684 north and 9685 south.
Also your map in your boat is flying :p.

Hope this helps.

I didn't quite understand what you meant by the first sentence but thank you for the last one xD

Really nice mapping but a few things I don't like on the island, pirates+amazon don't mix (IMO) some of the mossy rocks don't fit especially if there is no dense nature near and the black ground ontop of the hill doesnt look good and I don't really see any grast tufts, next time you take pics just have it set on the normal zoom when you take them :D They'll look MUCH better!

Hello, this is a nice first attempt. I only think you should try to start from the stretch. First try to make a nice shape (some people also prefer to first map, and after that working on the shape. You should both try them out). Here is an example of a shape: http://otland.net/f480/minimap-how-make-your-minimap-look-good-139704/. It's mayby not the best tutorial, but you could try to work on one. After that you should try to slowly add details. It might at the start be a bit of taking lot's of time, but you will be able to map faster every time you finished a piece. Just search for a mapping tutorial at this page and make a decision of where you start working at: http://otland.net/f480/usefull-mapping-links-141623/

Good luck and keep it up!

I think your tutorial is useless and foolish. It doesen't even look good lol!

I improved the screenshots. And I want people to see this map in good quality before showing my (Game of Thrones) project map.
