Hi, I'm looking online for a new computer and i'm customizing it. Now I've usually been told the more RAM the better. But I wanna ask which would be better and faster in my computer:

24GB Triple Channel 1333MHz DDR3
or
12GB Triple Channel 1600MHz DDR3
or
6GB Triple Channel 1866MHz DDR3
?

They have different speeds, and is there a place i can get 24GB Triple Channel 1866MHz DDR3?
 
24GB RAM? Is this guy for reals? I think 6 GB RAM is more than enough. 24 GB is probably only used on super computers with super stuff built into their super os based on x128.
 
Well can you tell me which one will run faster. I want to run several servers at once so I think more RAM is necessary.
 
If your going to spend much money on a RAM, i would think that you should just buy a dedicated server =)
 
Haha well I'm planning to buy a new expensive computer anyway and I'm gonna update to FIOS internet so it would be better than a dedicated server :P
 
Still won't be better. Get the 6...

12 is not necessary for ANYTHING you can personally want to do, and 24 is unheard of in-home.

But hell if you wanna spend thousands and got the cash to blow, by all means smack everyone in this thread with a $100 bill and go splurge.
 
Ok I'll prob get the 6 then :P Idk, but why would alienware offer 24gb on one computer? :P

Why not? think how much you will be able to do on the computer on the same time :P

If i had the cash i would make a setup like this

24GB ram
3x Crossfire/SLI cards

6 Screens
3 on the bottom and 3 on the top

You will save money if you build (or get a friend/relative) to build from ground up. Don't pay for a brand lol....
 
Unless you are playing Crysis or ARMA II on the highest settings available with a really good graphics card. I doubt that you even need 6GB!
 
Man i think that a Pc with 6GB RAM is enought, if u will run about 3 servers at same time, is enought with 6GB RAM =/

24 GB is for like a World of warcraft server.
