The server was not closed because of a lack of sells in the donation page, but because of a lack of players. If you have 6 players left, it has no use making the premium cost less. If they would all buy a premium scroll at a 5x lower price, it would in no way come close to the server upkeep cost.
This was a high quality custom server, and the reason it closed was because botters were banned and for some reason others did not feel like trying it/learing about it. The problem obviously lies with the players, not the owners.
Gee I won't even bothering trying to explain logic anymore.
Ascalon was a great server, but the donation price was way too high. I know for fact several people who would've both started, and bought premium if it wasn't so pricy. And that's just the people I know of, so for sure there're more.
