Anyway we have been discussing whether to add stages or not, i take it that everyone has there own ideas about how realots should be and i care for those that are active and the active players thought that adding stages could be a good idea, so the question is, IF we would add stages how would they be? main reason would be to easy up for the newcomers and still get to know the fun that comes with being a highlvl,
my idea that the active players seems to like so far is :
1-50 6x
51-70 5x
71-90 4x
91-999 3x

Some guys will probably say, thats the end of realots, calling me noob or something but you probably are not player here anyway so :)
 
add stages now is bad idea,
if u will restart server + stages it will be 200+ online again and ppl will play
 
About your server. If i were you I would look at other succesfull lowrate oldschool servers, for instance the great Tibianic. Just keep your server as it is, make updates which will not make enthustiastic players loose hard work as you suggested with ur rates system. It creates a vorried community, which will result in ppl not exping and server dedek
 
More payed advertisment is done, this time we got : Make your server appear on the top of every page on otservlist.org! Featured server box, which is displayed below the otservlist's logo in top left corner, is a great addition to highlighting your server. We display maximally 12 servers there, which are rotated every few seconds. if you guys have more tips where i can advertise please let me know

i totaly agree with you which is why things are being discussed with the active players and most seems to like the idea, nothing is decided yet
 
It's really nice that support still care about this server. That is true- it's hard to convince people to play when there are high levels but I think they won't PA new players or maybe even old ones (also I'm sure GMs won't let them do it). Come on guys, you have whole rl map here, 0 bugs and all running pretty smooth.
About rates. In my opinion would be cool if you increase rate for low lvs but not a lot and decrease rate after 100, for example:
1-50 x5
51-100 x3
and then x2 after 100
But if you make it- players which got 100+ should have lvs reduced according to x2 rate. I think they will agree because it's choose between high lv on empty server or lower level with bigger community.

Thought that advertising will bring players but I was wrong. I think that only 2 things can help: make staged experience or instant x4/x5 and restart.

I know that people have lost a lot of time here - me as well but situation won't change without reset.

I disagree with you the reset part. A reset doesnt solve the problem, but adding features that build a community will.

Realots is still in progress. When new maps, quests, items, taskssysteem, warsysteem, voc. balancements, exp stages are edited people will come to try it out. Just hard work and staying constant in your work.

The problem is that there are a few high levels that have an advantisch. But any good pvper know the higher you are the harder you fall.

It was a joke dude. I know its a pain in the ass to level when there are high levels. Specialy when your 200 levels behind.

For me thats the only valid reason why a reset would work. And it seems plausible that it would attracted more individual players.

But if you look at the bigger picture the disadvantages can be pointed out.

First what about history repeats? 200 players and then back to 15 players.

Second the promise of the staff is broken. This will dgm the image of the server.

What the staff must ask themself is why did all the players leave? A reset would only remove the symptoms. You want to cure the main problem and fix why people didnt stay.

We should discuss this.
 
I wrote a big, very specific list of things that had to be fixed during the first couple of weeks of Realots. Ruuska was full of promises but also full of shit, that's why we all kept playing the server.
List included stuff like:

*Fixing certain thing on the homepage, it was pretty horrible at first. There was no way to display frags.
*Fixing bugged weapon enchants, they were infinite at first. When they finally fixed the bug, people that enchanted them before the fix still had infinite weapons. They ran around with them until I quit, don't know if it's been fixed yet.
*Removing enchants legs and possibly exura gran for knights? Changes that were not even thought through, last fight I had, level 115 MS flashed through my screen in ½ a second, great fun.
*Fixing premium rose before the free premium days ran out. This was one of many promises to the community they did not keep, I'm sure people quit when their premium time ran out and they couldn't pay for it in-game.
*Anti-bot, took them 3 months if not more? Great feature for the 20 players that were left I guess.
*Fixing random kicks from the proxies, several times per day. Most of them didn't occur due to ddos but because of something else. Don't know if it's been fixed.
*Opening PoI, or at least PoI DLs. Giving players something to level for.

Literally NOTHING happened with the server in 2 months. Random kicks and botters were still there (the 2 most important things to take care of since day 1)

And... probably alot of other stuff that I can't remember. If I look at the server now, it seems great, but unfortunately the server has too bad reputation and too low population for new players to start. Felt like Jens was working alone since he joined the staff. Hope you learned your lesson, this server had great possiblities but you killed it with your inactivity and lies Ruuska. It's unlikely that I will ever play your servers again due to your ignorance and bullshit.
 
They had to recruit gms, mappers, cms, spriters and programmers. There are always people who want to help for free. The server had / has great potentiel.

This guy up makes a valid point. Ruuska is quite inactief. Or it seems that way.

In there defence. I understand they updated the server slowly but in the end they still did it. Some things take time and patience still is a virtue. Probably Jens worked hard. But again maas90 makes a valid point that slow updates ruined the playing experience. Specialy when people have unfair advantisches due botting or unfixed bugs.

They should give everyone free premium intill the player count is 100 again.(people dont pay for an empty server) Also hire/form a team that is capable of running the server spotless.

People can work a lifetime to earn someones trust. But it can eazily be broken in mere seconds.

Its what the casual oldschool pvp is looking for. Will attract more xping and more pvp fights and so on and so forth

Also no buy runes from store to create economy.

And harsh death penalty to make pvp interesting.
