I agree with Shade, can't even outheal damage from a Ghastly Dragon.
I feel like everything here has been "done" already, i dunno if i'll keep playing, but good luck with the project, coming along great so far
 
Well keep in mind balancing is one of the hardest things todo in a server, Eldin might have been a bit to hasty to not test it beforehand but he's trying his best to solve all the issues and give you guys the best performence :)

Loads has been fixed almost 24/7 since the server came online and we had a great start except the wierd debugs and issues we had to solve.
The server began as No-PvP for people to get a chance before killing eachother in every corner and to make sure that the basic systems was working.
Basicly all requests as well as errors has been dealt with and I ended up getting loads of comments that damage wasen't like real tibia, therefor I made it all like real tibias damage output as the idea was that none could be sad or mad about it. I am not sure exactly what spells are to good or to bad now as I had to take a few hours off while waiting for more feedback and checkback to balance further. If anyone wonders about the Heavy Magic Missile I've got a reason, a lvl 50 mage one shotted a lvl 50 paladin after I turned PvP ON, I had to make a critical fix before I had to leave in this issue.

Overall, the server was loved from the beginning and it gained player after player, then people reached lvl 30-50 after a few hours as its a fast server and felt like they had nothing more todo, the PvP was turned OFF so it was pretty much true, its afterall a more PvP type of a server and not a server that you explore huge continents with loads of quests. Even if I could make it so, its not the idea of the Project, its time to focus more on PvP while also improving the systems like requested.

I believe that Rookville should once again focus on more RookWar Style where lvling is is more alternate along the PvP to recieve better items and more strenght. Im all ears to any feedback according spell balancing as I haven't decided that its going to be like this, I just made it what you requested.

Here comes a few questions that I'd like you to answer:
-This is afterall a RookWar type of a server, what could be done to improve it more towards PvP?
-If you don't like it to be a more PvP type of a server, what road would you like to see Rookville take?
-Is X Spells to bad? Please tell me how much damage or healing etc you'ld like them to have and why.
-Spells not like real tibia like I mentioned? Please tell me the spell and how much they take in real tibia and at about what lvl and magic lvl you or someone had while dealing this kind of damage so we can compare.

Rookville is a tiny Project of mine but also a server where I now tested multiple system to be used on many of my other Projects, therefor I thank you all for helping out. My intention is not to make Rookville a big server with huge content, I could then make Another server with a custom map or real map with these systems if the goal was to continue lvl after lvl. It's hard to see the perfection if we don't have a goal.

did u buff dragon lords? i went stairs up got instantly killed o_O btw what is with hmm runes its the fact that mages have problems to lvl untill lvl 45 cuz they have literally no dmg lol besides pally and knight who can drop such crazy weps with 64 atk go offline trainers skill and hit dmg like a rambo mages have no chance and spell dmg is just bad atm cant you make hmm like before and nerf it then in pvp not sure if it was that op i only know that sd can hit more when u have the right magic lvl
 
No monsters has been buffed.

I changed the damage to real tibia as people wanted that, then people complained about taking no damage "and can't solo hunt". (I believe they're forgetting that they are lvl 40~ and not 200~) I then took some extra time this morning and came late to work as I re-added the spells again. The question is, how would you players like it? I continue to try and do what you like but instead you think its worse then it was when I decided. :)

The only thing that I was extra carefull with this morning was the HMM, I raised it again (from yesterday) but without doing it OP again to not ruin the entire day for people. I can ofcourse make it higher again once I get home.

Every player always in general think that their vocation is bad and unbalanced or that another vocation is over powered, therefor its always hard to balance. I would need much more input and im very open for discussion, I just don't see any feedback, I just see "My vocation sucks, its unbalanced" or "that vocation is to op" so that doesn't give me anything more then the fact that I seem to get more complains when listening to the players according balance then when I do it myself.

First of all:
Should every vocation be able to hunt most stuff by themselves, yes or no?
Its hard to create a balance unless this is very clear, right now one side fights to be able to solo hunt a behemoth or demon easily whatever vocation you are while the other see the wrong balance that comes with this. (Even if they don't know its the issue)

Back in the days at real tibia we used a lvl 50-60 Knight to block a Demon, if he missed 1 heal (without hotkeys) he was pretty much dead. If he came abit under yellow everyone else directly healed him and that was the only way to hunt those demons at those levels.
What I see now is that Knights as for example complains if they need to focus on healing and can't heal plus attack the kind of boss creature with spells. (At lvl 40-60) Mages complain if they can't stair jump and directly kill a monster without needing a blocker, paladins wonder what they their point is as they are in between while they have a great chance to survive in every situation.
So my experience from the server tells me that people want to solo hunt.

My Point of View:
1. You either make it more possible to solo hunt for every vocation.
2. You balance it and keeps/makes the Knight a survivor with low DPS (compared to the othets), the mages high DPS but easy targets to kill due to the low HP (maybe limit thr mana shield more) and the Paladins the good solo hunt and overall vocation with both mana, HP and in between damage. (And in my mind bows and arrows to make melee their weakness, Knights should be using a shield and be the blocker)
3. Another point of view, bring me your version.

Small Damage Example:
Knight Damage: 50 (Remember that Knights don't need to take as much to kill a mage)
Paladin Damage: 100 (Great in general but weak in melee due to no shield and still take damage from mages)
Mage Damage: 150 (Damage needed to bring down a Knight)
(This all differs due to spells, buffs, skills, eq, sockets etc, but to have a base)

This is all very interessting and this small project has given me alot personaly, now I need to focus a direction for Rookville to see it completed and get along with my other projects that all got a goal and direction. Im very glad that people would like to see more areas and expansion for Rookville, this will probably happen in the future to some degree but it was never the goal to begin with.

I also believe that the best way is to balance PvP first, monsters can always be changed. This is the main issue at most games and exactly what real tibia are doing wrong now.

Im about to give everyhing some time to see where I want it to head, feel free to help me out!

I dont think that knight needs to be low dps or high he can be medium since they can loot uber op weps :D and pally same i think you should higher mages dmg they got low survivalability tbh i get 1hitted alot lol and I have bad feeling about the server atm i see 2ppl online me and a guy when server started we had 30 ppl :C i feel like singlerplayer sadly i think offline trainers kills player amount

Edit: I also found out that exura gran that cost 3x much then exura heals only 50hp more lol

I would like to send out a request to the people who played to help me balance it all.
We would do it online at the server and check every healing and every spell for every vocation in PvP and make a ground for how every vocation should be. Anyone open to help me out? :)

Once that is done we could have a look at what you want to enjoy the server, whats missing basicly.
Remember that I will release this quite soon to the community so it is of importance to have a great gameplay as tou might see several other Rook servers out there soon. ^^

I have just been discussing Vocation balancing with players on the server as this will be the first step.
The idea is to re-check every Vocation and we began with Knights in focus.
We set the Sudden Death Damage from mages as a basis to compare heals and other damages from.

A Knight should be able to heal back the DPS taken from a Single mage SDing and using his Wand at the same lvl. (Based around lvl 40-50)
A Mage can as for example use Summons while the Knight could use UHs as an extra heal buff.

What has been done tonight:

-Sudden Death Runes DPS has been raised.
-Strong Health Potions now heals more, about 150 each second. (125-175)
-Ultimate Healing Runes buffed to have a higher healing value.
-Knights Berserk (Exori) lowered, now costs 40 mana to use.
-Knights Fierce Berzerk (Exori Gran) lowered, now costs 60 mana to use.
-Knights Front Strike (Exori Min) lowered, now costs 100 mana to use.
-Knights Annihilation (Exori Gran Ico) lowered, now costs 160 mana to use.

Knights are currently going towards a more surviving vocation with "low" DPs unless he chooses to use attack spells instead of the healing. It will not be easy to kill a Knight and he will for sure be needed to block bosses. Im open to any suggestions at all, the best way is to discuss is online between the players.

Further balance for Knights as well as the other vocations will be set tomorrow with start somewhere around 22:00-23:00 (probably) to 01:00-02:00.
Feel free to come online an join us during the discussion and live testing. Potions and Spells will be the first things to Balance, then we'll have a look at costs, Equipment, rates, systems and Everything else.

Great progress, I hope next in line to be looked at are Paladins.

We will test every Knight Spell in PvP tonight to get it complete then head directly onto Paladin before we check Mages. Make sure you'll be there to perfect your vocation and others. ;)
