First of all, I'm pretty sure that XML functionality has been completely deprecated from the source code, thus the person who is supposed to make you an XML server, would most likely have to re-add all XML functionality from scratch, which would take a very long time and a lot of work.
And i honestly don't think anyone would do that much work for just $150.

Second of all, last time i checked there existed no website manager for XML, thus if you want people to be able to register on a website, you would have to make one from scratch, or seriously edit one that already exists.

Thirdly, If you're thinking having a website manager, keep in mind that you would need to host it locally, no professional .com/.net hosting, since unless you set up a very complicated FTP system, and install FTP on your server computer, your website wont be able to add/edit/delete the XML files properly.
Oh and as for security, this is much worse than SQL, since if someone were to crack your FTP password, they could delete your entire server, and since XML is harder to auto-backup than SQL, you will have big security problems.

Main point is, there is a reason for why MySQL and SQLite was used instead of XML. Those $150 is better spent on buying some MySQL books or perhaps MySQL classes, because SQL will always be better than everything else when it comes to data storage, management and security.

another example is house binary storage i think ;s it's 100 x better then old because of speed .

Ok.
Here is is;
You will NEVER 8.4 xml server which isn't totally bugged.
And there is no chance the developers will start with XML again.


So the best would be to read a good SQL tutorial, if you don't get SQL you should not be managing the server.
SQL is really easy, and if you don't feel like having a website for the accounts there is a ingame account manager, which can be activated and deactivated.

And save those 150$ (which you probably weren't even planning on giving) and get a haircut or something, lol.

And I'm getting tired of the OT part of OTLand, people want money for everything, you don't see the developers who put alot of work in theirs distributions for years selling their servers.
Go get a real job if your trying to earn money from Open Tibia, you can deliver newspaper or anything and make more money.

Sorry for the little off topic just felt like getting it out.

True enough, but setting up a PHP/LUA SQL based system which adds/removes items to your house (for example donation systems), would be more or less impossible unless you can somehow encode/decode that binary data.

Ye it was hard to figure out how to get the damn Sql to work,but trust your self, for the first time i tried i though that my brain would explod, and i starting kick all the items i found i even starting to hit my computer screen.But be patiently,i had a day of from school and i was thinking now im going to get this shit to work!after severals of hours i managed to fix it, now i got an complete OT server with homepage and Premium points, IM PROUD :D

Don't trust In Rappine .. He stole About £42 from me...
he was selling a global server with map 136 MB
But I paid him , and he didn't give me the map... so don't trust him...
thief... And I have proof if anyone doesn't believes!

If you don't understand how to setup a SQL server then i think you should go play pokemon on your GBC or something because i don't think you will be able to handle a OT if you can't learn stuffs.

I playied an about 10 days ago, and see one thered in site by an "JORA157" I think him have server XML 8.4, but IDK if him sell it ;S ask him!

Been trying to learn SQL for 7 months?

Im sorry, it took me 1 - 2 hours, and I am very slow at learning.

The diffrence is, for an example.
An XML server that could handle 30 players.
Would manage to handle 400 on an SQL server.

What about actually reading and studying, do some "school work". You'll understand how important it is, once you grow up. (hopefully).

Not offensive meant.

While trying to learn SQL, it took me 75% of the time to find an SQLite browser, and downloading xampp for the mysql.

Else than that, just follow a flawless step by step tutorial in our tutorial section.

if u actually know how to make sql war server it takes u 5 minutes to create 300 characters with skills magic level on it i'm actually working on eq how to add all players depends on vocation same eq maybe some1 will help me ? some scripts or ?

I bought 1 server from him
that one he was selling
I paid 42 british pounds
and he dont gave me the server and also didnt give me the money back
he just say thats he has very bad internet connection.. and just put msn off
but don't trust him
and don't play Empire server
he gonna stole ur money as well ;p
if u dont believe me.. add me in msn [email protected]
and I will show u our msn chatting registry and my paypal account that one I paid him...
