The second error is normal, don't worry.
But, the first error I guess you installed just the DirectX version without install the open-gl version before.
Try to install full-client again.

For the first problem: when you add a the ip to the list of servers you should make sure to select 8.54 instead of 8.1.

I guess there were 4 deleted chars online and that's why you see different number now.

So... I did not realize there was a max. amount of characters I can put in a single changelog and ended up writing a changelog so huge that it cut off half of the text and that's now irretrievable... great.
I don't feel like wasting time documenting everything all over again, but basically, every spear, chaos, ammunition or bow/crossbow weapon now has its own maxHitChance (in case of ammo, spears and chaos, hitChance too) to adapt to the new system.

The server should be up and running today, I have to talk to Tarjei to put it up and before it's opened to the public, I'll have to make sure once more that all changes to the database were safely applied.

Also I get this error when I start client;

Solution for first problem, click the "Servers" button in the top-right corner of the login box.
Delete everything from that window, and add a new server:
IP: necronia.com
Port: 7171
Version: 854

And select that server to connect to.

Solution for second problem: Just disregard it and press Finish, the client should open anyway, and this issue will be patched in 1.20. Alternatively, you could look up some posts in this thread where I posted a download link for the fixed client.wyc file, but it's not necessary.

Just a suggestion @Shadowsong about the changelog - it could also contain "Updated" column with date of last update and maybe some separator between lines added in each update. In cases like we just had it would really be helpful and would ease watching/reading the changelog.
I may add this suggestion to opentibia's forum if you want in order not to lose it.

I just tried to log in and it says i have no characters on my account

Yeah, I saw some characters online few minutes back, all of them from the list of "suspicious" characters so I guess Shiva was checking them.
Now the website is dedek and I also have the message that no character exists on my account. Hope that's temporary and not some kind of accidental database wipe
