The white city

thanks everybody for his help, i got some ideas now and working now on the city. i ll post the first pics tomorrow or a bit later, so u can see and give your feedback.

Its looking good, the idea of a city like venice in tibia is hard to make but you did good!
for my taste its a bit to grayish, i like a bit more color to it but its still good :)
like to tell me what ID's you were using as borders between water and street? :)

The water does not fit too well with the grey contrasts and I know you said you don't need detailing, but it badly needs a lot more details. I can't tell you really what kind of details since I have no clue myself, I just know that there's a lot missing. Trees growing directly from the pavement doesn't look too good. You also said you want a cathedral feeling to it, so remove fishing cranes, everything that has something to do with marketing. Too many boats etc.

Some wall structures are weird when you walk up stairs etc.

Depot walls, missing correct tiles.

I feel like your concept is really good, but you currently lack the skill to make this a really good looking piece of art. Keep practising and I'm sorry for my short criticism, it's just too much to change I can't point everything out.

19976-19979, but i am searching for another solution, because this one doesnt fit to the boats :/

ok, i took a little break from the city and started a to map some nature.

this nature piece should be a white sand desert with some giant canyons and rivers.

when cip added this new krailos idland, i was vefy sad, because they mapped it so bad. it was just a flat island with n othing on it, no real nature, no things to explore, no giant mountains, no curvy rivers, no waterfalls, nothing... just a flat island.

so this is the beginning of my attempt to create a canyon/desert like kind of nature.

This is the style of how my nature will look like. i am planing to expand this area. in the north i will make a huge mountain with rivers, waterfalls, tunnels etc. in the south will the the beginning of deep canyons. in the west and east mostly a desert.

I am also planing to add some dungeons there, for example a white crystal place, an abbandoned temple or a nomad village along the cliffs of the canyon.

does anybody know if there is a mountain tutorial here? cuz i d0nt understand how to map mountain walls.

does anybody have suggestion about the plants i could place there? i dont want to make a whole desert with only 3 kind of plants. and i dont know if that yellow troll grass fits to the sand

No comments? Well i like the style of my natire, but i still wanna know suggestion for plants, grounds... is the bordering good... what still ff can be also placed in the desert.....

I am still not giving up making a venice-like city. what do you think about this idea?

in the fitire i will make the houses a bit smaller and will try to put more water in the streets.

some details are missed.

and a big thanks to Nicolos, he is one of my favo mappers here and i have got much inspiration from him. hope its okay that i copied the way you put flower pots on the roofs.

just a pic to make you curious on what Comes next. i know the Screen isnt so good, but some of the surroundings arent finished yet. i ll post more and better Screen when i am finished.

this is first time i am using that mountain sprite and atm i dont know how to use them correctly, so the mountain part maybe be messed up a bit.

I actually like the waterfalls, they aren't meant for that watertype. But when water is falling down at a high velocity, it turns brighter, almost white. The contrast here is very good between the waterfall and the water.

Okay, here sre some more parts of my flooded City, i ll call this City Taurik.

The reason why the City is flooded is a big glacier on the top of the mountain west of Taurik. Ist melting already for some years. The reason for it is still unknown, but romors say that a mighty Dragon living in the mountains has awaken and his heat makes the glacier melt.

The water from the glacier flows down the mountain all the way to Taurik and floods ist streets. This causes some Problems with Buildings becoming weaker, but it also draws Attention of many tourists and merchants on the City. This is a good Point, becausw the City can earn a lot Money with increased tourism and trade.

The mountain parts you can see on These pics are the begging of the giant mountain chain to the west. The mountain chain contains of many mountains which are not completly discovered yet. The mountains inhabit many animals, magical creatures and humanoid races.

Not a single Adventure has managed to cross this mountain chain and to find oiut whats beyond....

...if i could make a Server, the Goal of the game would be to cross this mountain chin and to find out what lies behind! it would take a lot time and lvls, because there will be many strong creatures/spawns on the way and quest Need to be solved in order to pass some parts etc.....

PS: a note for the Viewer: i will all more Content soon, so there wont be so much water. the rivers meant to be very small and flat.

thanks, leave a comment!
