To be honest I have high doubts if a 3-4 day advertising thread on otland is going to be enough to get a higher starting player base. Ofcourse there are numerous of people waiting here for ascalon, but you miss out on even more people by just advertising for a short period of time. I've been waiting for ascalon as well, playing beta's and alpha's on servers that are advertised here. Often I mention Ascalon when talking to people on a server like that. The strange thing is, a lot of people have never heard of it, you'd think a discussionthread like this is very 'flashy', seems not.
So I think it's rather better to see a longer and better advertising (including otservlist) instead of a quick 3-4day thread that will attract some people (most likely a big % of the old players).

i think it will be enough, lava titan's version had 150+ players around launch with just 3 days of advertisement on only otland i mean there's soooo many ppl that have played ascalon and will play it again, and is just waiting for it to launch again xD

The thing is, a lot of the people that are waiting for it, will be done with it at the same 'hype-pace' they were waiting for it, ascalon will have some major upgrades, but it's still ascalon. Don't expect 5 different worlds and 150+ different spawns, you'll run through a lot of the same content again. And if you play ot's enough, you know just a handfull of players has the motivation to keep doing that.

First of all 1- The exp rate should be soo low but not from level 1-100 because people start and stay like 2 days to get lvl 100 so they get bored and quit

2-In the client download link just put one client because people sometimes download the broken client and try to log in and it doesn't log in so they think ascalon isn't serious

3-Items should be more hard to get as the exp rate is low because this era i threw g7 items which means i can get them so easy

4-Balance all vocations they shouldn't be what they are this era

5-Dungeons should have timer like 15m and raises up to 45 minutes

6-Fix all spells before u get the server started don't be lazy

7-Staff that can respond to us all the time and every bug they know they tell u about it in the shortest time

8-tipon't make promises u can't do,just say u will do it and we know u will work hard to get it done

9-We gave u alot of bugs this era so we hope all gets fixed after reset

10-Put a full list of rules at the Temple-Depot and the server information page

11-The staff should do your rules and not making they own rules.



We trust in you gaal that u will do it in the best way.Don't let us down

i could host it if people wanted to just dont want to waste money on a host when no one plays & i dont want to take donations for work i didnt do so kinda have to find a solution & players. It's pre-Gaal version tho.
