If you look closely, he basically said "yeah make me a spawn and I'll pay you" (I got private messages to confirm that).

He did say that.

Otherwise, it took him 7 hours (of playing Fortnite) today to finally reply whether he liked where the map was headed or not.

That's his prerogative; a lot of buyers/sellers don't respond at all after initial contact.

By the time he replied, I'd already finished and sent him the files.

I see where you went wrong.

Don't create an entire piece of work until you know it's something your buyer is looking for.
Never send the work before the piece you've created and the price the buyer is willing to pay have been established and accepted.

Now, I don't blame him for not liking the map, but I blame him for wasting 3-4 hours of my otherwise great saturday afternoon making his stupid spawn. The worst part is I know he's gonna be using it on one of his servers now that he's got the files and that I'm gonna be left working for free, even if he claims the 'map is trash'. He's gonna be making use of it somewhere.

Irrelevant. It's your work and you're still free to do what you like with it.

Yeah, OP, I hate to be a negative Nancy here but I'm a horrible mapper and even I could've done that piece in like 5 minutes. It's not good, and I wouldn't pay for it either, nor would I use it for free.
