Hey,

I almost finished proxy system. It will allow to host servers in south america without worrying about ddos.
It's already avaiable in otclientv8 but will also work with classic tibia client
unknown.png

If you want to test it get my otclientv8 from ************ and login to otclientv8 server, acc1/acc acc2/acc acc3/acc, then go to options -> extras -> debug proxy
Soon 2-3 server will start using it and you'll be able to test it better ;)

what about lights optimalization?
on kasteria fps drop from 3.1k to 1.3k off/on lights, even on default otc is much better

GOD level. Nice feature;

xd. I like when current problems are fps drop from 3.1k to 1.3k.
In this 2500 unique players used otclientv8 on (mostly on kasteria.com), and most common feedback is just "wow". I'm monitoring otcv8 performance on their pcs and even on 10-12 years old pcs without gpu they have 40-60 fps. You can see some stats here: OTClientV8 users (http://************/clients.php)
Let's see some cpus (all without gpu):
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU B960, 2011, 1366x706 ~100 fps
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 , 2008, 801x601, ~80 fps
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550, 2008, 1024x705 , ~70 fps

Now go and try to use normal otclient, on those cpus. Spoiler: it won't even start
So I don't really care about drop to 1.1k fps

@kondra What's the point to make otclient works on such old PCs? It's like frontend-developers care if they work will work on IE5 - noone did, noone will do. There are even some game-developers who drop Linux support for their games due to small amount of players on that platform - on your statistics site there are missing player count or % usage of client for that 500 clients mentioned.

What?:D every game developer is optimizing their applications as long ss they can do it. And get the fact that its Tibia and it still have many players that are using old pcs/laptops and wants to play

Of course they can, but is it worth? Having 20k players in database, what is the point to spend additional few hours to make client work for 3 of them?
still have many players that are using old pcs/laptops
Can we get a numbers?

I totally agree @up, I know many Tibia players here in Egypt who cannot afford a better PC or who are still satisfied with their old laptop/PCs which has really low specs.
So developing it to work with such old specs will truly increase the number of players/users that are able to use it.

The question should be rephrased to: why in earth’s name would you want more fps than your monitor’s refresh rate value? 1000 fps or 3000 fps, it doesn’t matter, those values are both redundant. Anything over 250 fps is ludicrous.

Great job kondra, keep it up.

~10-20% players have quite old computer (>8 years)
Meanwhile there are 20 players who use nvidia rtx 2080/2070 to play :D
The oldest used cpu I found is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4400 @ 2.00GHz from 2007. It uses "ANGLE (Intel(R) Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family Direct3D9Ex vs_0_0 ps_2_0) " as gpu. It even doesn't have full directx 9.0c support.
Used by player with name Khazix, Canoas, Brazil, resolution 1024x706
I checked his logs and he has stable 40-60 fps:
Code:
fps":[51,50,53,56,56,57,58,60,52,54,52,53,52,58,57,57,58,58,53,53,51,50,49,57,56,54,54,54,44,44,44,42,44,53,53,54,54,47,45,46,49,45,48,55,57,57,56,54,50,48,49,56,55,59,61,62,61,58,56,48]
"fps":[48,48,49,49,44,49,48,49,49,49,49,49,49,48,49,49,49,49,50,49,49,49,49,49,48,49,50,48,48,47,48,49,49,48,48,48,48,49,49,44,49,49,48,48,49,49,49,49,48,48,49,49,49,49,49,47,49,50,49,48]

Ah ok, i've look at percentage drops, not tested on old pc yet.

Your attachment to the concept of logging is truly admirable, I could vouch for you just because of that
Yeah, it logs quite a lot, press ctrl + alt + d. Later it sends all stats via http protocol and i don't need to spend hours asking players about feedback, just read the logs

Are all, this project of yours, kept in a Git repository for you to know what you added/removed in the future?
I have another OTC project and I just can't remake everything from 0 to get all changes of your client, but I still wish to get all of that in the future when I get money.
Even if I had money, I wouldn't pay for your client.
I would pay only if you could add everything to mine. Is it possible?

Seems a great client.

yeah, i keep all on github

Tested it out a bit on both 8.70 and 10.98 servers, overall the client feels smoother than the regular tibia client and much better than the regular OTClient, and the client feels absolutely amazing on clients that use the newer walking animations. However spell effects doesn't seem to work at all in newer protocols (they don't show up at all). It's also a shame that the sources won't be shared, but I am guessing that they will still be up for sale?
