yeah tried it "Masterczulki" Seen myself on lunch hour video, And yes you can add extra banner saying
"Most player give up when on lunch hour i make trainer accessible for 20 gold coins"

Thanks for your feedback @WAkeAndBake !
I appreciate your feedback, and understand your frustration that it can be expensive to train when you have recently created a fresh account.

So let me go into the details of our Training Room system:

Currently, access to training room costs 300gp for 15 minutes of training time. (20 gold coins each minute).
If you cannot afford 15 minutes of training time, you will not get access to the room.
If you are in training room and train away your money, you will be kicked out when you can no longer pay the upkeep of 20gp/min.
Training room is not a no-logout zone, so if you are inactive 15 minutes, you will get disconnected from the game.

Why did I implement this system?
  • I don't like servers that contains AFK inactive players
    • I think its almost as bad as spoofing, you login on a server and everyone are AFK training
  • I want people to spend time playing the game, not staying in a training room
    • It must be boring when the first thing you do on an OTS is to login and wait for days training skills?
  • I need a cash sink to stabilize economy.
  • I want high skills to be an achievement
    • I want skills to mean something and to be worth its effort in gold.
    • Getting 100 skills requires more effort than just throwing a starting character in training room and forget about him for a week.
  • I want training room to be available for active players who needs to train
    • Not just the first players who logs into the game and reserve their spot for the rest of the day.
    • I want small cozy training rooms, I don't want half my server to be a massive training room. I want to chill and chat with friends while training.
  • I am in compliance with otservlist regulations
    • If your AFK more than 15 minutes, you don't count as online. Your just holding up space for someone else.
But paladins and Knights are useless without training skills?
  • New characters start at level 15 in our server
    • Paladins start with 40 distance fighting
    • Knights start with 50 melee skills
Because of this, I argue you start with enough skills that you should be able to venture out into the world and get at least lvl 30-40 before training becomes a necessity. That way, new characters can begin their adventure the moment they register a character on our server.

I like to train, I want to train before I start leveling!
Well then... This is actually possible. Let me introduce you to our trade tower roof-top! :D
1629304686702.png

The trainer to the left is located in a NO-PvP zone, so you can safely hit him and train your skills.
If you got some skills of your own, the trainer to the right is located where PvP is allowed. If you are a bit creative and get some help from a mage, you can train as much as you want, completely free of charge! (unless you are a paladin, you need to buy spears, hehe).

You can hit trainer, a friend in party can hit you, that way you get full attack and shield training.

If there are multiple people using this trainer, he might not be attacking you. If you have a mage in your party, the mage can summon a rat and hit you, while you hit the trainer. That way you also get full attack and shield training.

These trainers are more bothersome to deal with, and one side is potentially risky from PKs.
But they are a great free training alternative.

So in this regard, the normal training room cost is just for the convenience sake. You pay for laziness.

Did you quit the server because you couldn't go to training room because its too expensive?
Or because you didnt know about the free alternative? (I admit website lacks some server information).
Or because you didnt know how to properly train without a proper training room?
Or because over a timespan of 23 minutes, you died 4 times?
(Gazer at lvl 15, Orc Berserker at lvl 17, Bog Raider at lvl 18 and Cyclops at lvl 17).
  • New player experience is a bit easier now, less walking simulator.
  • You know where to train if you want to
  • You have 10 webshop points, so you can afford premium
    • All old accounts got 10 shop points during pre-registrations.
It would be great if you could give us another chance. :)
If you need help, try World Chat or Help channel, lots of players want you in again!

I have been playing this server for a while now and sure it's abit of a challenge at first, but it's a really fun server.
The first few days were the hardest, getting enough cash to turn a profit, learing all the systems etc

This is my favourite kind of server, where you don't know everything from day 1 (ie. a real map server) but where you actually have to fail and learn!
If you enjoy playing custom / RPG servers this is something for you to try out! :)

I found my nostalgic server so i pass. But if you included that info of the trainers on rooftop before launch maybe i wouldnt cry about trainers and xlog at the start. Also i was expecting it to be low rate, Not to have manarunes like on some orsha GL

WAkeAndBake seems to have misunderstood our implementation of the mana rune, I might have worded it a bit wrong in my previous post.
So someone else might get the same perception as him.

To clarify, client protocol 8.6 doesn't natively support ultimate mana potions, so the mana rune is used as a drop in item replacement.
So mana rune is not like traditional "custom ots mana runes", it is not infinite, it is just as expensive as a normal ultimate mana potion, and gives the same amount of mana as drinking an ultimate mana potion.

In the same fashion, spirit rune is the same as ultimate spirit potion.

Changelog: 20 August 2021
Paladins and especially Knights are given some love this update. And more changes are in the work.
  • Added hellspawn and bog raider task
  • Blood rage (utito tempo) now lasts 5 more seconds.
  • Chain lightning now costs 650 mana (up from 500).
  • Spells manacost reductions:
    • Berserk (115 -> 75)
    • Brutal Strike (30 -> 20)
    • Fierce berserk (340 -> 300)
    • Whirlwind Throw (40 -> 30)
  • New Paladin spells:
    • salvation (exura gran san)
    • strong ethereal spear (exori gran con)
  • New Knight spells:
    • recovery (utura)
    • Front sweep (exori min)
    • annihilation (exori gran ico)

I believe GM Klaffen assisted you in-game?

I'm looking forward to another great week, there are some interesting things in the work. :)
The server is also pretty active compared to the players online, so if you decide to register, feel free to reach us on AcidsOT Chat and Help channel. :)

Not going to lie, I was told to play by a few people and I made an account and logged in late one night to train before playing the next day only to find out it cost money.... and honestly never logged back in

That says more about you than it does about the server.

I've been playing casually and I like everything so far. A bonus that everyone is so nice as well.

You can say whatever you want tbh, majority of people who start pally/knight will want some form of training before playing those vocations... yes I understand u start with 40 skills but doesn't change the fact that most will want either trainers or offline trainers

Your toxic (and projected) mindset does not apply to actual long-term players. People interested in the sever and the community are probably the target audience here, not people who 'play' by 24/7 afk training then quit anyway on their first death because it's too hard and their afk high skills didn't save them.

It's a good server, quite refreshing tbh

Wow I can tell you must be a really bright individual. God I'm sorry for offending you snowflake :(

Greetings!

Yeah, according to my data, this is quite normal.
I have addressed this situation in detail in this post. There is a solution, if you go east for depot, there is a trade tower. Climb to the top and you get access to trainers free of charge. :)

If you have any questions, feel free to consult Help and AcidsOT Chat channels. Players are usually eager to help new members, and there is alot of new stuff to learn on this server that new players simply are not aware of. But a little patience goes a long way! :)

also feel free to dm me ingame ill help anyone starting with some starting gear and some cash for promo etc. :)

First impressions:

Loaded in, jumped in the nearest teleporter to kill some trolls with a trusty hatchet. Fuck me, I'm stronger than I expected, yawn, trolls are ezpz.

Climbed up the ladder, explored some, found a trainer on the roof south of temple, fuck it, let's do some training then slap some cyclops around.
15 mins later, I didn't advance a single skill, but I wanted to explore! I went back to temple and bought a battle axe from a big boy npc for 200+ GP I got from slashing the trolls.

Let's try Orcs, I jump into the Orc teleporter and headed east.

HOLY FUCK, SO MUCH SPAWN

Swinging left and right with both arms on my battle axe, I was slicin' and dicin' these green motherfuckers

1630245082101.png

I even managed to hit level 20, ding ding ding ding
1630245260639.png

After a bit more exploring and slicin' and dicin', I came across a big ass tower to the south east. I thought, fuck it, let's go in.
Climbing down the stairs, I saw a ton of lava, let's go further, maybe even a big boy demon I can suicide to?

After exploring the vast emptiness of the cave, there wasn't a soul in sight, human or monster. But I did come across a set of stairs and a teleporter.
1630245356371.png

Now, being the fucking amazing explorer I am, I hopped, skipped and jumped up the stairs, to find a vast array of emptiness there, too.

Unsatisfied with my findings, I came back to the teleporter, grabbed my nuts and jumped straight on through.

Little did I know, this teleporter would ping me straight back to the enterance of the castle, a big boy bear attacked me, I sliced and diced in my shock of wasting 10 minutes looking at vast nothingness, sliced the bastards paw off with my hatchet and carried on exploring. I'm not bear food today!

1630245456937.png

I headed north a little and found a bridge, my reading skills aren't great but I tried.

1630245510203.png

Now, I'm a big boy so I'm certain I could smack a cyclops around with my battle axe, but Giant Spiders? Nah dude, I'm an arachnophobe, fuck that shit. I continued heading west to retreat.

Part 2 incoming

On my way retrating, I managed to slip into a hole full of Wolves and Bears, I thought I was about to kiss the sweet gods. Since when did Wolves and Bears collaborate and share fucking caves? This world is relentless. I smacked a few around, used my rope and climbed to the top, back to the surface and headed north.

Pic of the deranged wolves and bears sharing caves, but oh, most importantly, axe fighting skill advancement!

1630245675185.png

After heading north, I fell down another hole, again, full of Bears and Wolves, but this time, there was another hole inside the cave going further down.

I whipped out my explorer hat, clenched my butt and swooped on down.

what a fucking mistake

1630245754258.png

This ugly green motherfucker was looking at me like I was lunch, no wonder there's bears and wolves, it's a fucking feeding pit for this prick.

I've never climbed a rope so fast in my life, jumped up that motherfucker and headed back to safety at the temple.

Is that all?
No

I couldn't let this dragon deter me from my main objective, to explore. There was a blue, sparkly teleporter right behind it's ass and I was going to run like a dog with my tail between my legs?

I dumped everything in my depot and carried only a studded shield and hatchet... OH... and my leather boots. They're a bit sweaty but they keep me warm.

I ran back to that same cave, dodged and dived the Dragon and fell through the teleporter.

As I spawned the other side, realisation kicked in, 2 motherfucking green motherfucking dragons looking directly at me, startled.

I ran to the other side, I saw a rope spot but lo and behold I left my rope in the depot. As I ran back to the teleport, the dragons fucked me over and I met the gods.
