Hello,
I’ve created Tibia servers on older versions before, and I wanted to try doing it again just for fun. Things seem a bit more complicated now. I’ve spent several hours setting up my first TFS server following this guide: The Forgotten Server 1.4, and I was planning to run it with Tibia 10.98.
Setting up the server itself was similar to before, but what I found extremely frustrating was configuring the client. Back in the day, all you needed was an IP changer and the Tibia client. From what I’ve read, now there seem to be two options:
Why has this process become so complex?
What exactly is the difference between these two types of clients, and is one clearly better than the other?
When was this changed and is this only for newer versions?

- Download and set up the OTClient yourself, as shown here: OTClient GitHub.
- Download the Tibia client and modify its hex values, which is what I ended up doing.
