So I waited patiently for the update to fix some of the problems with 3.3 never once complaining or whining like so many others. after several delays finally we were blessed with the new update! The solution we had all been waiting for, What a great day.
I download the new files with eager anticipation of stability with the new features just looked upon as an added bonus. I update all of stuff and fix several lua problems due to the == 1 vs == TRUE thing. I get it all worked out and the server seems to be working flawlessly.
I was then fully prepared to come on these forums and bestow upon the TFS developers great praise for all of their hard work on this amazing release but I was tired and went to bed instead.
I wake up all excited to publicly release the server I have been working on for a while now. My uptime was 13 hours!! STABILITY achieved!
Then it was all downhill from there. I find that several of my spells no longer have exhaust or soul cost or mana cost. Ok no big deal just remove those spells <after all this is huge update so what about a few spells> Then major disappointment strikes. As players begin to come on my server and play. Server crash. ohh damn I say. Hope that don't happen again. 10 minutes later crash again damnit. 7 minutes later crash again...damnit!! 15 minutes later crash again Shhhiiittt 3.3 all over again!
TFS Developers we know that you devote a lot of time to this and you do not owe it to us etc. We do appreciate the work and we do want you to continue to lead the ot community in source development. That being said I really have to wonder what good it does to add new features and try to make the server more and more advanced yet still overlooking the big picture which is a stable server. All of these features mean nothing when the server crashes constantly.
Is there something more we can do as a community to help you guys develop more stable releases? I am sure most people reading this would be willing to do whatever you wanted in order to help.
I write this out of frustration but I still retain my respect for the TFS developers and the rest of the OT community so please consider that before flaming me.
You put alot of effort in it. Just a bit bugs to be fixed thats all
