I doubt they start sueing every OT... If Open tibia dies, tibia will die with it.

Open Tibia will never die because people will keep finding ways to circumvent the problems/lawsuits/whatever. ^_^

Best way to avoid these kinds of things really, is to do like most L2 servers does; Have a big contract that pops up whenever you try enter the site for the first time, in which you state:

  • No one from or associated with CIPsoft can enter the website.
  • No one who are in posession of a tibia account or will ever plan on getting one, cannot enter.
  • No material gained from the website and/or server can be used in a court of law and that it's strictly for educational purposes.
Among other rules/excuses/statements that more or less makes CIPsoft unable to sue you.


This has worked well for the major L2 servers ever since NCSoft used FBI to shut down a popular L2 private server.

Also, not everyone has their OT on OTServlist.org, it might be retarded not to do so, but many people just host a war server or a fun server, give the ip to some friends and have a nice evening.
