I don't think your screenshots do your maps justice. Sprites look the best when they are at not stretched or shrinked, that's why many take screenshots ingame with the Don't Stretch / Shrink Game window setting activated.
 
Yo that ladder in the corner is an optical illusion. Is the sprite shifted the wrong direction?
