Dear collegues,

This is my first post here to announce our latest project: Akademicki 7.6 Legacy!

Our server originally launched in autumn 2006, almost 20 years ago! I began this journey hosting the server in a student house on my personal PC. Back then, we had an enormous player base and were one of the first—and largest—Open Tibia servers in Poland.

~ We are launching again on: 2nd May 2025 at 7PM CET ~

I think that players that time loved our low exp multiplayers and PVP mechanics, but times has passed, we stayed with our OTS engine and did not ported ourselves to TFS or other distros, but constantly we were optimizing and fixing bugs - some can say that makes no sense! And I`m partially in, but we have written a piece of good code, that I`m proud of!

Ok, lets and stories and go back to description:

====Akademicki Legacy short description====

Over the years, players have loved our low-exp progression and PvP mechanics. We’ve stayed on our original OTS engine instead of porting to TFS or other distributions, but we’ve continuously optimized it and squashed countless bugs. Some might say it’s pointless, and I partly agree—but I’m proud of the solid code we’ve written!


Enough history - here’s what makes Akademicki 7.6 Legacy special:

  • 7.6 retro gameplay with modern-world enhancements
  • Custom hardened OTC: anti-bot measures and rewritten network packets
  • No pay-to-win: all items and premium features are earnable in-game
  • Daily tasks and scheduled monster/boss spawns
  • Daily dungeons granting 24-hour bonuses to damage, resistance, luck, and speed
  • New sprites, items, outfits & magic effects
  • New locations with challenging quests
  • Enhanced boss mechanics: new magic-casting behaviors
  • Balanced vocations with dedicated equipment
  • Stable server protected by Cloudflare
  • New-player protection: no PvP until level 10 (Rookgaard only)
  • AOL protection up to level 30
  • Active Discord community—serious when we need to be, goofy when we can!

During those 15 years we have never exceeded x3 multiplayer. This time we will start with following set-up:

LUA:
Levels 1 – 50: Experience (x5)
Levels 51 – 100: Experience (x4)
Levels 101 – 300: Experience (x3)
Levels 301 – 350: Experience (x2.5)
Levels 351 – 400: Experience (x2)
Levels 401 – 500: Experience (x1.5)
Level 501 and above: Players receive (x1.2)
 
Not quite.

Website is written in native language, but you can easily translate it using translation widget on upper right. And on-game messages are EN.

I do not recommend this server, it is terribly bugged and unfinished. At peak there are 15 people playing, so another ots with no future.

Since 7.6 (otserv/avesta/YurOTS engines) there were few serious bugs in C++ that crashed/overloaded engines. Did you fix them all?
  • network RAM leak when player is offline (RAM goes 100% and crash)
  • house access list with regex (some custom house invite rules make server lag for 0.1 sec, whenever player inside house makes step)
  • i don't remember all, but there were few serious bug fixes in TFS 0.x, including total network and database code rewrites, to make 1.x stable

I ran your client from website, it's OTCv8, but there are no proxy servers (CTRL+ALT+D):

For last 9+ months every public OTS with 10+ players online was attacked by raw.exe and some other DDoSers.

How do you plan to stop them without proxy system (ex. Alpha Proxy Guide (kondrah/otclient multi-path proxy) (https://otland.net/threads/alpha-proxy-guide-kondrah-otclient-multi-path-proxy.291492/) )?
ots76.org points to CloudFlare, but..
game.ots76.org points to 178.63.181.4, which is Hetzner Online GmbH ( 178.63.181.4 IP Address Details - IPinfo.io (https://ipinfo.io/178.63.181.4) )
Hetzner anti-DDoS was useless since it started, but nowdays OVH anti-DDoS is also useless. Only multi-host proxy blocks attacks by raw.exe and other attackers.

We fixed a lot of bugs in engine that caused segmentation faults - and that was the core issues with old distros. Null pointers everywhere... Skull system, monsters logic revmap, pathfinding, gettingSpectators and so many others and lately some memory leakages were also fixed.

But we are also honest with players that this is the end of development of Akademicki Legacy and we will switch to modern distros as future Akademicki 5.0

game.ots76.org at the moment unhidden, but you can even get the ip of the server running 100% proxied cloudflare. Looking forward for anti ddos solutions.

The previous version was a terrible p2w cashgrab. Besides, this server was always funny, buggy and unbalanced trash. Cool to play 20 years ago, when there was nothing else, but rn, I would'nt wasty my time there - the previous version (hosted a 1 or 2 ago) haven't really differed from the first one, from 2006 xD

You’re referring to the previous - previous version, which some called a quasi “pay-to-win” update because we’d launched a small crowdfunding campaign. However, our goal was never to become a cash grab. The new server will offer optional PACC and a few convenience items in the shop—but nothing you can’t earn through regular gameplay. If you choose to play, you’ll never have to spend a dime.


Our Vision:

Akademicki relaunched only because players asked us to recreate that nostalgic atmosphere from back in the day. We never intended to compete as the top OTS among thousands of servers—that’s a project for later. For now, “Legacy” is simply the old server with bug fixes, some quality-of-life improvements, and plenty of the original solutions.

The server startup went smoothly overall—of course we had to apply the first-day patch :) But we successfully repelled the DDoS attacks, and most importantly, we’ve received a ton of positive feedback from players, especially about the new mechanics and maps that blend retro style with updated sprites.

Than, if you are interested it is still time to join!

Bear in mind that old players that follow our changes can use their knowledge. But there is no corruption xD as you said. Every rare item and every command casted from access > 0 is logged. As a summary I should quit answering, that making no sense. Try yourself!
 
you shouldnt threat this server seriously more like for fun to play few hours and thats all staff is giving items to their friends/old players atleast this time you can buy those rare items in store...
