Well I think the term "Rookgaard" just means that it is an island intended to be temporarily occupied by new players.. hmm.. maybe we should start an OT/Tibia Dictionary to answer questions like those?

Rookgaard (N) {Rook}: A small island temporarily occupied by new, low level players. Once players leave this island, they will be unable to return. Origin: Island of this theme used in the Graphical MUD Tibia, was named Rookgaard.
