adding custom items to mapeditor

hello, well I was wondering if you could add your own custom items to the mapeditor. Let me explain. Im currently using remere's map editor 2.1, and by adding custom items I mean that for example, add a new type of wall or floor or ladder, like your own textures or sprites (im not sure which one is the name). I need to edit some walls and add new ones to make a video. Is it possible at all?

I am also needing this. I've gotten to the point of being able to compile my own sprites (.SPR) but I can't seem to find an up to date .Dat Editor to actually let the clients know what these sprites are (Ground, Wall, Outfit, Monsters, etc) Anyone who could even hint us to the correct up to date tools would be epic!
