Putting black sand borders under the grass is a cool idea but at the same time not if you just put it on black sand. I suggest using the thick grass border or whatever else you may come up with.
Swamp =/= make a mess with whatever you find in the nature palette.
Nobody will ever see this.
The impact this has on your map is not worth the investment and I personally find that it looks awkward.
Woops!
I appreciate that you are so considerate you let us know that it is saturday 8:50 PM while you're working on a lizard swamp, that you still have internet explorer in your bar browsing the collapser forums BUT I'd rather have .png pictures of only the map. I suggest imgsnapper but any other image capturing program will do the job.
I do like the brown spots on the black sand, I like the fluffs of grass on the swamp, I like the combination of colours and I definitely see a lot of potential in this map, please do continue!
i will take your tip on the thick grass border, and i will also remove the darker swamp borders from the lighter swamp.
the stuff you you think cannot be seen will indeed be seen, all the swamp tiles are walkable (except the toxic waste tiles and rocks/shrooms ofc)
i agree with others about the middle part, the area to in the middle bottom is where i started the map, and for me where i start is always the ugliest part until i get into the groove of the theme i am mapping( which would be towards the right of the picture). so furthermore, i will use your suggestions and report back here when i feel it looks better. thanks for the time you put into reviewing my piece
