Saturday: It's a day off for every country, in Africa friday & saturday are the day offs, in the rest of the world it's saturday & sunday.
 
The day is not the only problem, it's also the time zones :p
Everyone wants to be able to log on the server as soon as it launches, but not possible cause there are people all over the world.
Anyway I'd say late Friday into Saturday is a good launch time. That's when most people are free from work, school, and other activities.
