Discord - here most of the development will be shown and discussed.


Long story short: the server will be a hardcore-grindy RPG, a good old oldschool combined with some new features, mostly focused on giving extra ways to grind things (spells, skills, gear). It won’t be p2w; it will be created by players for players.

CHANGES

Combat
– all ranged attacks (arrows, spells, runes) should hit the first target that’s in their way, yet ranged vocations will have other ways of attacking, such as melee weapons for archers, turrets, improved summons and shapeshifting for mages. This change should improve the difficulty and fun of both attacking from range and tanking/blocking the shots.

Map – we will start with an edited RL map (perhaps will turn it into 100% custom someday) with ONE CITY, somewhere in the middle of the facc area, near the dwarven bridge. The city will be big and lively, with many social areas to train, to fish, to battle with other players. The other cities will be populated with biome-based mobs (Knights of Thais etc.), providing low to high levels of exp and loot.

Upgrading

a) Spells
– all should be upgradable at certain levels. The base power of every spell will be lower (for example 50% of normal power). Reading certain “books of skills” will upgrade a spell’s power (damage, heal, range, duration etc.) up to, for example, 110% of base power. The grind will be slow, stable, and expensive, so a maxed spell should be hard to reach.

b) Equipment – should be done in a similar manner, lowering the base power of an item and making it 100% when fully upgraded. Many different supplies will be necessary to upgrade certain items, something that should drive the economy well and give people many ways of earning. Most items should be level capped, and the cost of upgrading well balanced to make every item worth upgrading.

"Metin stones" – they should spawn in specific, random areas, with several tiers of difficulty. Each stone has it's own HP and continuously spawns waves of certain mobs while being attacked, increasing the challenge and preventing easy farming. Destroying a stone rewards players with exp, gold, rare materials and upgrade components used for spells ("books of skills) and equipment. Stones should also have a respawn timer long enough to avoid overcrowding but short enough to keep the world active.

I’m from Poland and it would be perfect to cooperate with people from the same country, but it’s not necessary.

bump, still looking for anyone who wanna get involved - mapping, programming, web design, testing, whatever you wan't

I will do my best, to make this project sucesfull - which means, that the effort we put in will "live a long life", and it will bring some $$ benefits (I don't think much - because p2w is not an option, but who knows the numbers... anyway - fair share between producers ! )
