CipSoft's "Creator" software (Map Editor and more)

Any idea why they call a barrel a "metal barrel"? Same ID as a regular barrel. Or is that the new name for it?

Kinda funny they never changed the look of it. And I believe they never even obtained any license to use it in writing. Copyright by Christopher Clay. Also using GIMUD Editor in the image, but it was a simpler version of it. Christopher Clay: Portfolio: Tibia (https://c3o.org/portfolio/?32)

One ID - one object, and vice versa. So, obviously it's the same barrel with a new name. Probably to differ it more from a wooden barrel (and other types if there ever are any), rather than using a general name; and to be consistent, because that's what it actually is - when you use one in the bright sword quest it is clearly said to be a steel reinforced barrel, and not just some barrel. It's not anything unusual that they rename some objects.

Most likely brush name rather than item name. In RME it would be something like this:

XML:
<brush name="metal barrel" type="doodad" server_lookid="xxxx" draggable="true" on_blocking="false">
		<item id="xxxx" chance="100"/>
</brush>

Alternative option is that they changed it recently, would have to check in game.

I didn't manage to read all the posts because there is a lot of pushing regarding mapper knightmare and others and this is not the main topic.

The pictures look old yet I am not surprised by the performance of this program.
CIP has implemented a lot of possibilities in one editor.
One man making a map , without knowledge of programming can create a plot NPCs to a given corner of the map, invasions and much more.
This gives CIP an advantage.
They do not need : mapper, scripter, etc.
One man will do the whole thing.
Our community could use such a program that works on many levels.
Even in the creation of NPCs.

You choose the NPC option.
Then a vendor.
Then items and quotas.
The program creates map and npc files in a folder.

A beautiful thing for people running a server alone and not only....

Definitely would be nice to have something like the "Creator" software but for OT development.

Yeah, this would be awesome!

Not sure if it will help, but as this may be on interest of someone to try and build a "Creator" software based on Cipsoft files.
For this reason I have just released my "script-reader" library that I worked some time ago. Its use is to you read the Cipsoft files: .npc, .dat (not the client), .srv, .sec and others.
It is 100% based on my reverse engineering work on the game binary, so the code is pretty close that the one that some Cipsoft member coded.
I had plans to make a single header-only version of this but never get prioritized on my to-do list :p

This is useful for reading the files, to be honest I do not remember if it would be easy to make it be able to write

I don't know what monster that is either, but looking at the old 7.7 files there are "event files" in the monsters folder that define monster raids on cities (invasions).
So it's possible that the RM stands for "Raid Monster" and tells the editor that this monster isn't wrongly placed or a mistake, but will only exist at certain times/dates when the invasion event they're attached to triggers.
That RM actually stands for "Random Monster", that specific monster varies its race from one to another.

Tibia went pretty much downhill after they started to copy the grindy bs from other games. Quests like kills 666 demons or postmaster are on the same IQ level as Trump.
I wouldn't even touch real Tibia even if someone paid me money to test it. Old and new Tibia is like the difference between day and night.

I can't read this without smiling
Do you think old tibia was not about grinding? It was also about grinding but people didn't care about min maxing that much and you had different people and times. People roleplayed casual stuff in tibia that got them bored after years and no one cared about this anymore despite one or two guilds
Also talking about Trump IQ. Is he stupid or people who voted for him? If you are smart enough to convince 54% of people to vote for such clown, then i would not call him stupid

why they call a barrel a "metal barrel"? looks the same as a regular barrel.
maybe it's a barrel for sorting metals.
a witch recycles.

wasn't so much grind until after unjust system imo. not that ppl didn't care about exp before. they were just busy justifying things for themselves.

The real downfall started with tombs, tiquanda, etc. The no return point was the implement of hotkeys, runes on market and new hp/mana system. It turned into something else not even close to what it used to be.

The game is in the worst state it's ever been. CipSoft is deleting fair players left and right (false positive bot detections) due to the recent surge in bots again. The only recent updates have been money sinks which they gladly even mention. The whole point of Tibia in 2024 is, as a player, to waste as much money as possible before getting wrongfully deleted.

And they recently hired a guy from Microsoft's XBOX team (Boris Schneider-Johne). Surely they will start implementing more pay-to-win now. What a mess. What a nightmare. Glad I left this game.

Tibia gameplay in 2024:
  • Buy a character for a few hundred Euros, or why not a couple thousand Euros?
  • Buy an overpriced house on one of the few active game worlds
  • Spend thousands of Euros per year so you can AFK and use exercise weapons
  • Spend a few hundred Euros (or... why not a couple thousand Euros?) to buy the latest and greatest equipment
  • Eagerly wait for the next money sink update to be implemented, and then try to figure out how it can benefit you (hint: it can't)
The game is full of NPCs. They even got horrible people like Mathias Bynens, the "Oh hai!"-guy (Tibiamaps admin, TibiaWiki admin, Reddit mod, yadda yadda whatever else he can find his way into) wanting to implement a 24 hour exercise weapon. And I'm sure CipSoft plans on implementing it. That way the NPCs... I mean players... can stay online 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Then we got a true zombie game with no activity. Just endlessly skill and do nothing else. Perhaps one boss kill per day and that's it! So far, he's wasted thousands of dollars on training in the game. He dumps a large part of his Google salary there. I'd also like to express how much I dislike him for continuing his work on the V8 engine, which brings many new, unofficial, unwelcome and unwanted "web standards" (-cough- Chrome standards) to try and kill Firefox and anything that isn't running Chromium. People like him truly only wants to watch the web burn. Notice how he's always one of the few that reply to pretty much every post on the auditorium board as well. CipSoft loves his money sink ideas that ruin the game - and gladly implement them. As long as he keeps dumping thousands of dollars on the game, they'll suck his nuts dry if he wanted to. Fuck him and fuck everyone at CipSoft.

Today on 07 Feb 2023 the fansite Rookie.com.pl published an interview with Satudo, one of the testers at CipSoft GmbH.
In that interview, CipSoft GmbH provided screenshots of their internal tool, called Creator.
It's not just a map editor by the looks of it. It appears they also create other things inside of it:
  • Quests
  • Events
  • Raids
  • Add sound to areas
  • AI (?) [look at the menu bar button]
  • and more...
Perhaps, they do everything inside of that one tool. Scripting NPCs, modifying monsters, etc.
It's a nice idea and could be useful for the Open Tibia community as well.
I think this is the first time we see full-size images of it. Previously it has only been shown on some images and videos from a distance.
What do you guys think of it?

Here are the images of it:

There is a way to integrate lot system like actions events and other in the RME and make it complety configurable from it example : you need put an script wich teleport player and other thing you can do it using rme for sure.
For other system like raid and other its pretty easy to implement on the current rme we use.

The simplest way was to rewrite on server files location before idenfity server files.

Is anyone working on something like this? Any open source projects?

Is anyone working on something like this? Any open source projects?
I'm sort of working on something like this... rather than a single multi-purpose tool, I am working on a framework and GUI stack of applications in a single solution (what is commonly referred to as a "MonoRepo") which will allow a person to just clone or download the project and run rebuild once and produce multiple applications such as the client, mapeditor, asset manager, spell scripter, monster maker, ect all at the same time... it will indeed be open source and I am pretty seriously considering the permissive licenses like MIT... but right now its just barely more than a gui window (and framework for parsing open tibia formats) for each application... It will indeed be shared open source someday though, you can talk more with me about it, and check out my other projects by joining the community, for which you can find the link in my signature or on BlackTek Server console, or BlackTek Server repository's readme.
