Complaint on Don Daniello

Hello!

I'm writing this because nothing is happening and Don Daniello can just do whatever he want and walk away.

As you might know/seen I have my own thread in Jobs Section "HalfAway's Hosting Service", I'm doing it completly free.
(trying to boost the usage of TFS 1.0 and ZnoteAAC and also custom servers in general)
All they have to do is to apply and show me some information about their server.

I'm trying to get the thread know to people so sometimes I bump the thread, and so does some other users that is happy with my service.

To the point:
Today I got a "Inappropriate Advertising / Spam" conversation from Don Daniello:

The quote Limos posted is in the support member section, its in a thread where we discussed the rules for the support board.

Not sure if it was clear what I posted. The quote was to show it's not something personal towards that thread, but I do think it would be good to have clear rules about this to avoid this kind of situations and misunderstandings.

That post was taken from a thread where I insisted we have clear rules on absolutely everything to avoid this type of thing. I hope Don Daniello sees the point I was trying to make those months ago; I also hope that now we can really have a proper rule section like this.

I would gladly spend time making the mentioned section, just give the word @Mark.

I made a complaint thread about Don a few days ago, and everyone gave me shit for it..... Something needs to be done about Don Daniello and his power abusing.

I don't see the reason behind this, really. People clearly overreacted, but it's a fucking bad move to enforce an "unstated rule" the way you did (wtf, unstated rule, he was bumping a thread, most common and accepted behavior at the entire internet).

Okay, so after having myself read into this discussion i came to a conclusion.
Obviously the thing that lacks to verify DonDaniellos actions is the appropriate rules written down somewhere and available for anybody. Since alot of the members here, including Peroxide , a former staff member, cannot recall the BUMPS in HalfAways thread being against the rules, the right action to take would be to
a) RESET HalfAways Thread to how it looked like before
b) Gather the staff and clarify the rules and apply them to THREADS IN THE FUTURE

As for now i, personally disapprove of DonDaniellos actions and find them to be INVALID at the time being.

Well, i think there isn't any use in posting other BUMPED threads here.
It is obvious that the rule concerning this wasn't clarified yet and therefor i am quoting my following conclusion once more:

I fully understand why you opened this thread @HalfAway it's obvious that what Don Daniello did was not justified (atleast the way he did it)
We could all argue now that he made it for a personal reason or not as no one can proof that he either did or not.

However, the way you guys are dragging this thread onto isn't smart either, for me this is turning into a childs playground.
If we all gone by that, then we could close the doors to this community.
I think we are all mature enough here to stop dragging this onwards, if Don Daniello reverts his changes or atleast change it into a thread which doesn't look like a mess.

Anyway since some more users threads posts been merged, I'm fully okay with it.

Just felt abit wierd when I got a warning, when other threads got way more bumps.
But lets move on, this thread can be closed.

PS: The rules and everything should be updated as it was before the forum switch (can't find much rules right now).

I think that we can safely conclude that this is why we need proper rules and a page detailing them. We cant just assume that people assume what is and what is not allowed.

Lets use this as a learning experience to make this community better.

Im not fine with it, either set the rules to a better state or give the bump posts back (no im not a post count wh**e) but still, there are plenty of threads listed in this thread that hasen't recived any punishment for it.
Even if Ninja responded with that my account haden't been limited since I diden't have enough warning points for it.

I see your point here. I dont know if the staff are willing to reset the threads to how they were but definitly the warnings shall be removed and no one shall be punished/warned until a clear set of rules is applied and available for the public.

First off, I would like to say that having someone in a powerful position while also competing against other members to make money is NEVER a good idea. Just asking for people to abuse their power.

Threads will not be restored, it is not possible. The reason I merge posts into the first one is: (1) to show you how ridiculously stupid the thread looks when you put the posts together, (2) so that they do not take space anymore.

I know you don't care but moderators see every single removed post. Imagine threads which have hundreds of posts deleted which you don't see, moderators load a page and see 20 posts you normally see and another hundred in between that is removed. Merging them actually makes them disappear. Nothing is stopping the thread creator from removing the merged bumps from the content of first post.

Third, bumps get regularly removed in many many threads. I most often target threads that have highest bump-to-content ratio. I do not have super powers to clean every thread we have here, therefore you can endlessly find bumps here and there. If you feel there are too many of them, feel free to report them.

Nobody was punished for any bumps. The warning is not a punishment, it's a warning. It's a way to remind you about standards. I don't even call it a rule. As @Mark once expressed, bumps are like spam. I agree, there's no content in them. We don't need a rule against spam on every page of the forum to fight spam. @HalfAway and others received a single warning of 1 point. Three are needed for a banishment and points expire. Most of the time those warnings don't lead to a banishment because they expire first.

If you feel so much disturbed by this friendly warning message, please do keep complaining. If you'd like, I can write a browser extension for you that will inject bumps on every page if it makes it easier to read the content for you but as far as I'm concerned, there is no single reason not to delete bumps.
