Hello there. Long time ago, i've create a setting, "sub"-setting of Forgotten Realms(Dungeons and Dragons).
From 2004 to 2014, for those years i've develop them as 2D game based on Tibia. Maybe someone remember that:
And many many many other screenies... If i simple gonna post it, i think there will be post for ~100 pages =)
=====================
But i discontinued 2D version of this game by various reasons. (maybe at some day ill back but... just let me tell my idea hehe).
There is just 2D limitations. Tilesystem limitations for implement a many key features for this world. And, those idea, in my vision, should have a better realization than 2D Isometric game.
In short, game like Tibia + UO + DnD(Forgotten Realms) + TES Morrowind + Planescape in one flask. By features, mechanics ideas and ofc, with unique sub-setting based on D&D Forgotten Realms setting.
Well, what the plan? Currently i am working hard on Epsilon Engine and few little games just for one - my flagship project- EK(Ellestia Kingdoms) on 3D. That is hard task, i know, but currently i have alot of progress on this way.
I dont have completed so much, enough for MMORPG, but... i can show you a Terrain Engine.
The Terrain Engine currently has a nice water rendering, ambient lights, speculars, particles. Sphere Skybox allow me make a REAL Day/Night system. Yeah, there right now no items or creatures, also buildings too. Just terrain with enviroment. But, that is only begins!
World will be in Tibia-like style - open, non-instanced (exept "single" instances, for objects like house) as possible and really large world. Caves, Dungeons - will be instanced for example, but all players will join to one instance. That is just 3D scene behavior, and allow me make a non resources-hungry gameclient. (for play this, will be enough 2Core CPU, ~3Gb HDD, 1Gb DirectX 11 compatible video adapter and 4Gb Ram - for quality on screenshot posted above).
For be fair, currently i am using TES: Morrowind Textures, extracted from BSA archives, but, that is not identical to original ones. They are modified. (Higher resolution, better mips, mapping and etc. if compare with original 2003 year Morrowind). So sadly, but i dont have a 3D artist right now.
For "start" i will use Morrowind textures & models (i hope, it be replaced, but anyways it be in this style, i like this. Better than "korean mmo"-like styles). Currently i have just 3 ppl team (SkyImmerse), who help me make this game. But i still outhanded and strongly needed in 3D artist, who can collaborate and help me with 3D models & textures. If you like this idea and want to help, please let me know.
Also for me is very important to know opinions (suggestions, ideas) about this game on this OT community.
