doubts about editing the map

so yesterday i edit the map and make upload to the server, i upload map.otbm, house and spwn.xml, the house they were cleaned, and the players lose their itens, as normal before doing that i make a backup, so i replace the new house and spawn.xml for the old ones, but the items didnt appear on the houses.
so my question is the item house are stored on house.xml or in map opbm??
