One of the hardest quests.
In Ascalon the items have a big part in how strong your character is, you can for example upgrade your weapons to give you crit, life leech, extra damage, a chance to stun when you hit the target and more special attributes. You can also upgrade the rest of your equipment special attributes like dodge, mana regeneration, speed, repel and more! The basic attributes on equipment is armor and resists. Armor protects you against physical damage, resist decreases damage done by magic. You can also get rare recipes which allows you to add even more insane bonuses to your equipment, for example one of these recipes allows you to revive when you die. There are 10 grades for equipment. Grade 10 items are Heroic only (second promotion).

Shield: You see a ceremonial shield of endurance [+50 health regeneration] (Def:300, Grade: 5, Price: 10000)
Helmet: You see a gladiator's helmet of repulsion [+3% chance to avoid magical attack] Shield: (Arm:73, Resist:73, Grade: 5, Price: 6750)
Armor: You see a rare ceremonial armor of endurance [+100 health regeneration] (Arm:76, Resist:76, Grade: 5, Price: 10125)

MONSTER SYSTEM:
Monsters in Ascalon are fully custom, they also have their own level. There are also white skulled and red skulled monsters which spawns rarely, these will spawn with a much higher level and they'll be much more powerful but they'll also have a much higher drop chance and more experience. It's recommended to hunt monsters that are close to your level. Monsters with level higher than yours, will deal additional damage to you, and your damage to them will be lowered.
When you look at monsters, it will tell you the monsters level, how many of them that you've killed and their armor and resists.
BOSSES: There are few types of bosses, some require items to call, some have scripts to make the battle intersting.
Types:
Mini - There are a lot of "mini bosses" which are the weakest of all bosses and if they give any loot, it wont be equal to other type of boss's loot (they dont drop area tokens).
Artifact of Sacrafice - You need an item called "artifact of sacrafice" in order to start a fight. with these bosses
Area(tokens) - There are 4 areas (Ascalon,Ridgefire,Crimson Desert and Torvora). Bosses of each area drop tokens, the tokens are used for quests or for token levers (more info on the wikia) (artifact bosses also drop tokens).
Area(coins) - There are 2 areas (Abyssal Tower and Goblin Land).
Dungeon - These bosses exist only on dungeons, they drop special loot and dungeon tokens (the tokens are used for dungeon token levers).
Raid - These bosses drop raid tokens and they appear only during raids.
Legendary - These bosses can be summoned using a legendary summon scroll, you need to use the summoning scroll in a specific zone.

In Ascalon the only spells left behind from real tibia are the healing spells, all of our attack spells are completely new and each spell has their own unique effect like stunning, slowing or burning your target. This allows you to choose what spells you want to use for different situations, for example burning your targets could be better for hunting and stunning your target could be more beneficial against players.

EVENTS:

There are hourly events in ascalon like bomberman, survival event, dig & climb, catch the sheep, capture the flag and more, if you participate in these events you will get rewarded with event tokens which are very useful since they can allow your character to buy preimum, fishing rods, soul crystals and more. There are also many different raids which each gives exclusive outfits/mounts/equipment/items.

You can make your character much more powerful by collecting addons and mounts, enchanting your equipment and making quests. This also allows you to customize your character, do you want to deal more damage, or be more tanky? Or perhaps a mix of both - the choice is up to you.

In this season of ascalon we've added tons of new stuff for you to explore while also revamping some of the older areas and systems. There are two new big areas, Torvora, which is for levels +300. There's also Ridgefire, which iincludes a huge area filled with undead monsters (The Deadlands), there are a lot of new quests and more stuff for you to find!
We have also added a lot of new spells that should make everything feel new and fresh again, there's new strike spells, new aoe spells, new support spells and even more special spells!

In the end Ascalon is a VERY customized server with lots of features that haven't been mentioned here. There's lots of things to do in ascalon besides leveling - gear impacts your character greatly, even collecting addons and mounts gets you bonuses such as extra health and attack and defense bonuses, even if you don't use the outfits - they grant you passive bonuses! There's waypoints similiar to diablo 2 and much much more. If you would like to see all the custom features that ascalon has to offer then please give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.
