How To Protect Ur PC From Hacking !

I've tried a vast range of anti-viruses... Norton, Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender, Macafee, AVG and loads of others my personal recommendation for Windows XP is ESET Smart Security for overall performance and protection.
Remember you get what you pay for and be careful when mixing a whole lot of free protection together - google to see if they conflict :p also to see if it's the best for your OS.

Mainly though: Common freaken sense + a good all in one protection system (for most people) + perhaps a few addons.

Simple, AV sucks

You need:
A good firewall (Recommend: Comodo Firewall)
it's rlly rare to see crypted virus bypass comodo firewall

Start->msconfig->Startup
If theres a virus, its 98% its gonna be here, otherwise the hacker is a newbie and ur even more newbie than him.

So easy right?

MSE + CommonSense, but that's all in the past, I now use Gentoo!
Master Race reporting out!
:p

The "hacker" would be smarter if he didn't place it in the startup list that is show in msconfig. Also he could have binded it to a windows process for example.

Btw

Ccleaner is a good app to add. You can watch your startup items with it, clean your temp files etc.

ehehe, the legend never dies, grad to 'see' you master-m :D

nowdays hackers (aka tibia hackers (aka skids)) wont take their time to do that, all they do is virus->cnf->crypt->spread
i still prefer my firewall + sandboxie :p

The more security suites you've installed, the more unsecured your comp will be. Security suites are not able to work in team. It's much better to install one antivirus and internet security like for example "norton" or "kaspersky", than a good few shitty security softwares.
My advice:

1. Install one security suite from norton or kaspersky and configure it as you like
2. Install Adblock plus for browser
3. Don't be so naive, to enter any links from your mailbox or even download something when you're not 100% sure that it's safe

But if you'll get hacked after all, than it's your fault!

^ This

I've been playing tibia for five years, I got hacked once - my own fault I've downloaded infected ipchanger(first year on tibia, the virus was titled owntibia.b). It never happend to me again, just because I was using brain I managed to reach 280 level in real tibia without any problems with hacked account. I knew running processes in my pc, I found this one easily and simply killed it and removed from C:\windows\inf; all I use to protect my pc is:
-HiJackThis,
-CCleaner,
-virustotal(before I run any exe) - I know there are ways to hide viruses from scanners(encryption or something), but I sold my character in rl tibia so I don't care that hard about computer security as before,
- ...and Avast
It's all about using a brain guys. If you don't want to lose your files in tragic pc accident just hold them in at least two cloud storages using adding websites via browser upload or ftp(external hdd can be corrupted after connection to infected pc so it's last solution)

I hold all my files I don't want to lose in two private 'clouds', clever user doesn't need any security to protect his pc

I had the same problem with DDOSes, I bought new router (110PLN) with autoconnecting and great firewall and my problems end now. As you can see (all), good router is the best way to stand out hacking.

BTW. Nice tut bro.

99.9% of this thread don't know what they are talking about.

Window 7 Firewall works just as good as any firewall software out there (if you know how to use it ofc) and then you will have no need for a freaking laggy software firewall that only takes up space on disk and memory.

And for virus protection.... Don't click the "Free boobies" ads on your porn pages and you will be fine.

If you download a file that you are not 100% about. Use "virustotal.com" and it will search the file with the top 50 Virus programs.

No need for a lot of shit on your computer. Keep it clean.

DDoS isn't a type of hacking,
and no, a good router won't protect you from hacking.

so, virustotal = safe?
wrong, its easy nowdays to bypass any AV.

ur the one who doesnt know what ur talking about ;)

Make a virus that can bypass any AV and send it too me :) <3

its not like something from another world, just google urself for fud crypters...and even if I had one right now, I wouldnt do it, scanning it on VT would make it became detectable by AV after some time, fknd up the stub =s

ofc I don't want anyone to get infected, im just trying to show how easy it is...
