Hypnagogia and Sleep Paralysis D:

You just turned my story even scarier. MJ creepin' ... Fuck dude.

Well I've never experienced all you went through, however sometimes when I am having scary dreams and I feel myself awake but still with eye close I can also feel someone in the room with me and get too scared to look for myself, when that happens I usually just hide my head under my bed sheet and pillows and try to think of good things that happened to me lately, but I think you should seek professional help before it worsens and becomes a real issue that could affect your life for quite a long time. It's never too early to receive help.

Thanks for taking your time to reply. What you described seems a bit similar to my process, though it never occurred to me to try hiding under sheets before trying to sleep, though But I don't think it would help the "someone's presence in the room" feeling. :c

I will seek further for more opinions and experiences. This thing also gave me some inspiration for writing a story today on school assignment. Maybe it has some pros after all.

I know it doesn't help with the "presence" thing but it helps me think that I feel safe in some ways, because it's mostly your imagination and by "hiding" under it, you're denying yourself from checking if someone is actually there which will weaken the "imagination"

I've also been experiencing the "creeping" thing you explained, but only like three-four times(?) As soon as I almost fell asleep, it felt like something creeped over me and I was wide awake after that. Then you can start to sweat which makes it even harder to fall asleep. It can take me hours to fall asleep after that. It's hard to explain, it's almost paranormal.

I feel sorry for you mate, I really do.

Seems like shit happens to all of us.
Wish we could have these joyful visions instead of this, that would be awesome! ._.
And so I realized I'm soon going to sleep.. good luck to me for tonight, I guess.

He died that's why he never posted. Lol joke.. Yeah how it go? I'm curious too.

I've experienced sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming a couple of times.

I gotta admit, sleep paralysis is creepy as fuck. For me it has happened like, when I finally fell asleep and I "woke up" (supposedly) though I was still sleeping but I was in a dream. I was in my bed, the same sleeping position, same room, same everything. For some reason I couldn't move myself (hence the name "sleep paralysis") and that's when I realized it was sleep paralysis (lucky for me, I did a quick research about this a long time ago so I wasn't that lost). I panicked, even though I knew it was sleep paralysis and that you could get back to sleep if you control your fears, but NOPE... I couldn't control the panic, I felt as if something was near me but I didn't know what, I tried to move but I couldn't, and that's when I woke up all scared and shit.

The only way I've been able to experience sleep paralysis is by sleeping face up and when I'm extremely tired, otherwise I sleep like a bear. You could try different sleeping positions if this is really affecting your everyday life. But you see, I'm no expert so if this really continues you might want to seek professional help. ;_;

Lucid dreaming (the "trips of happiness" you're talking about xP) is a walk in the park when you finally get to it. You'll enjoy it, I guarantee it.

BTW: if you want to check if you're lucid dreaming, look for clocks & mirrors.

What you were experiencing was most likely you having Vertigo while in your sleep. This is a rare case, but it explains you waking up and seeing things that would normally be in your dreams. Your Retinas usually do not move around while sleeping, but in your case, they do. Vertigo is the rapid movement of objects that are not moving, or other words, shaking of the eyes. In your dreams, you see this "Black Hooded Man", and it will go away as you sleep. But with this, it will burn the image of the "Hooded Man" into your eyes, making you think there is some pedophile looking over you while you sleep. As for the Sleep Paralysis, it can also be caused by not sleeping correctly, or other words, scared to wake up and see a Hooded Man in front of your bed and be paralyzed.

With Vertigo, you should stay away from all electronic devices, such as Computers, Televisions, etc. For at least a couple of days. If this continues to happen, you should go see a Somnologist and tell him about this. He will most likely tell you to either stay away from electronics again, or use some over the counter medicines such as Bynadryl. If it still continues, you should go tell your doctor, he will most likely preform some sleep thing with Valium included.

Sources: I've had Vertigo for around 5 weeks now. It's pretty annoying, but I don't see people out of my bed.

I'm not a doctor, but you should definitely go see one, what I said above is an answer, but it might not be the solution.

An electronic device, let's say a computer, if it is Digital, it consists of millions of little pixels that make up the screen. If you look closely, you can see them. To keep your monitor running, those pixels must refresh at a constant rate. So, if you have millions of bright pixels moving around your screen, and your staring at it, it will cause loss of eyesight. But, luckily, it's not permanent. You can simply not use the computer or TV for a couple of days, and it will rejuvenate again. However.. If you have Hypnagogia, I would suggest staying away from computers for a long amount of time, let's say a month, while still getting in your bed at an earlier time. Another good thing to do is do some workouts before you sleep, to make yourself more tired, or go for a nice jog or walk during the day.

But not to say that ghosts are not real. I've had some creepy things happen to me in my life too.

Hope I helped. :P

I usually dream about really fucked up things, but never really had any problems with sleeping though, maybe sometimes but I'm not entirely sure it's this kind of problem.
These dreams is relaly aweful, but I usually try to turn them into something good.
You might've seen my "Imagination" mapping? There you got some of the dreams. Cheers.

However, this part I find hard to believe.
(his legs were visible beneath the little space under the door)

Although, if you want professional help I don't think Otland is the right forum for you to ask.
Maybe some people did have the same thing, but they can't really help I think.
Go see a psychologist or some kind of doctor.

Well, I experienced no problems since the last time I wrote about it, but it has still been just a small period of time. If I managed to go through a month without any of such happenings, I'd call it a passing thing. But yea, I'm better these days. Anyway, yes, I've seen your mapping with that theme, it looks weird (in a positive way), a bit creepy also. Liked the combination of those giant eyes and a blood.

And about this thing:
However, this part I find hard to believe.
I'm pretty sure you do, even I still keep convincing myself that it wasn't what I thought 'casue it's too .. impossible and creepy?
