It has been a while since an announcement was posted, so I'll try to sum up what we have been working on since the last update. First, we have started writing articles for the upcoming Home page for OtLand, it is intended to help users who are new to OpenTibia to get started, so instead of filling up our support boards with very basic questions, the articles should cover these stuff. We also had a some changes a few weeks ago which included revamping the default member profile layouts to make them fit our forum theme even better, a Chat link in the navigation bar to easily access our IRC channel (#otland at QuakeNet) and a new editor (which we know some of you have experienced problems with, we hope to see them addressed in the next vBulletin update).

Besides that, we have released the first official OtLand software (more are planned to come, but still in development), being an IP Changer which is designed to support all Tibia versions. By using it you will not have to keep updating your IP Changer when new clients are released unless unpredicted changes are made in the updates. More information (and download link) can be found in the release thread: http://otland.net/f19/otland-ip-changer-134369/.

Before jumping to the main topic of this thread, we have also promoted Chris and Migxxx to global moderators to make space for new board moderators! Congratulations to them for their promotion, they have both been doing a great job as board moderators and now that they are no longer limited to specific boards they should be able to do a even better job! I also need to clarify the new staff position Community Manager, as you might have noticed Don Daniello and elf with purple nicks. It's basically global moderators with specific administrative privileges. Don Daniello is helping with the upcoming Home page with articles, and elf has been administrating the Project Tools (the system where you can report bugs for OpenTibia and The Forgotten Server).

Now to the reason why this announcement is being posted, and as you have read in the title; it's time for staff recruitment again! The amount of spam threads and posts have increased dramatically since the beginning of this year, but not only because that, OtLand is also growing with over 100 new users every day, so it is necessary for us to recruit new members to help us keep this forum clean from spam and other rule violations. If you are interested, post an application in the Staff Recruitment board.

There is no template that you need to follow for your application, but it would be useful for us to know your age, where you are from, which languages you understand, which times on the day you usually are online. You can also include which boards you would be interested to moderate, and if you would like to help us writing articles you can let us know that too.

For moderating boards, you must have had at least some past activity in the specific board you are applying for. You need to have a good reputation (and no, not reputation points!) in the community and you should not have any personal issues with any other member in the community.

For article writing (tutorials, tips, etc.), you will need decent English skills, not because you should use difficult words because you shouldn't, but because we want well-written articles which are easy to understand. You don't need to tell us about your English skills in the application though, we will look at your posts in the forums and judge from that.

Thanks for all the applications, the new moderators will be announced this weekend.
