Thanks owned.. heres a piece I forgot to post that I made for Sex Panther AFTER I smashed my hand, be nice! Absolutely none of it is auto-bordered. It is 100% Raw.. and I mean 100%

try making the water with the terrain palate, since it doesn't look good.
 
Okay i tell you now how it really is.

If you cant make mountains than use Autoborder, same goes for grounds like sand and water, it doesnt matter if you use RAW when it looks sucky.
Why should you use Raw on the water? Just doodad it, its easy, saves alot of time and looks better at the end.
 
I think my mountains and ground look fine, in fact non of it looks squary and the water isn't for show, the piece is. Now be it that the water is part of the piece..but it's not the entire piece.

but its a part of the piece, so if you want to improve your mappings, you should make everything look ok, not only 1 part, EVERYTHING.
 
Mountains etc were an example, and yes ur mountain there is still squary.
 
Nice for a newbie, try to add more plants and some debris and rocks.
 
Yeah it's pretty decent for a newcomer, missing some details on the mountain and don't use that type of ground for the mountain, looks bad in my opinion, btw Ctrl+scroll before you take screenie, take multiple screenies if needed..
 
I'm digging the ship-wreck scene. Feels like a place to hunt pirates to me. I dont know why. I could be wrong.
 
Some natural peninsulas would be cool too. Also try using other mappers as examples of how to detail. Don't zoom out so far because I can't see the damn details of the picture. In-game or it didn't happen.
