This is no Magma Chamber, guys.
Dominion is playable, and it's awesome. If you come to PAX or Gamescon this month, you'll be able to dive in and get your hands dirty. If you can't, we'll be releasing lots more stuff to whet your pallet.
But the big question: when is it coming out?
Keep in mind, League of Legends -- and the MOBA genre in general -- has only really had one map, ever. (Let's put Twisted Treeline aside for a moment.) Eurogamer said it best in their Dominion article:

Quote:
For many games or sports, one playing field is quite enough. A rugby, football or hockey pitch need never change, while the ageless simplicity of the chessboard belies the complexity of the many matches that have been fought across it.
To alter any of these gaming arenas would, depending upon your point of view, be either an act of sacrilege or an act of revolution.
We're revolting. We're turning MOBAs on their heads with Dominion. There are *no* champion restrictions -- if you own the champion, you can play him or her in Dominion. It's a totally different map with totally different gameplay. It's fast-paced and really exciting.
But because it's so different from Summoner's Rift, we want to make sure -- absolutely sure -- that it works well before pushing it out to everyone.
This isn't a "soon = never" situation, which is what most people mean when they say "Soon". This is happening. And we're not going to just keep you waiting. We'll have more information coming out all the way until it's launched.
In the meantime, there are a bunch of really great articles out there to check out. Some of my favorites so far:

New map brings chaotic control-point mode to League of Legends | PC Gamer
I will personally push the button to ship this, because it's such a fun game mode, and you guys are really going to love it.
